Guess we'll find out when he fights pacquiao. Even beating a past his best B- level Pacquiao would be impressive considering how mediocre Broner has looked in his last few fights. He is one of the most frustrating athletes to watch, and if he were to win it would only make me pull my hair out even more and ask "where the hell was this 3-4 years ago?!". Broner is becoming the Carmelo Anthony of the welterweight division.
His potential was that peach of a left hook he dropped Porter with in the 11th/12th round. Something Brook, Thurman not Garcia could do in 36 rounds.
He foot work is not what Floyd's was. He was not complete, so it was not his dedication, he just was not Floyd. He is an attention getter.
A lot lower as his hype warranted. He's a very good boxer with a couple of big assets, but he was never going to be truely elite. You don't have to give a real mega prospect multiple gifts before getting a title shot. I never got why so many saw something special in him.
Maidana was another animal, but he reached his ceiling after the Porter fight. Every fight since then has been the same. If he wouldve have NOT gotten out worked by Porter. He would have pushed Mikey in their fight. But it never happened.
