A win that gets underrated because of "what could have been". One of Floyd's best, for sure.

To me, Canelo is more like a manufactured "great" fighter, Pac is a truly an ATG

I remember thinking as early as the first round that Mayweather looked way sharper and that he would win.
The fight was just too late.
It means about as much as Leonard - Duran 3. Nothing.

I don't rank it at all. A boring, uninspired fight that occurred far too late. Not to mention Manny's injury. It would not surprise me in the least if both were aware of it beforehand, and, just didn't want to miss out on a payday where neither man had to sustain any real damage.

First off, Floyd clearly beat a very good fighter. That same fighter is currently the number 1 WW in the world 5 years later and he was the number 1 WW in the world 5 years prior.

Secondly, its easier to compare this fight against Floyd's other performances than other performances by different fighters.

Imo Floyd's best performances are against Hernandez, Corrales, Castillo (2), Canelo and Pacquiao.

I'd argue Pacquiao of 2015 is the best fighter Floyd ever beat therefore it is the best performance imo.

But it doesn't compare with bombing out a prime Frazier, walking down a prime Leonard etc.

Weight disadvantages are a big deal though.

Yeah, kind of hard to compare it to FOTC, Holyfield-Bowe 1, Duran Leonard 1. Arguello-Prior 1.

    Manny was faded and injured.

He had surgery on his shoulder 5 days after the fight.

Floyd wouldn’t fight Manny for years, supposedly due to the testing issue. Yet on the eve of the fight, he was then caught himself with an illegal IV, which was never reported to the NSAC.

So: Floyd did the very thing that he’d accused Manny of doing for years.

All things considered, It doesn’t go down as a great win in my book.

It feels like we were all robbed.

I give Floyd much more credit for his win over De La Hoya.

Yeah. It would be an insult to compare it to those fights.

Arguello—Pryor was a PED fueled affair against an aging and blown up Jr Lightweight. I don’t rate that win.

Holyfield—Bowe is about the right level.

It was like watching two relics fighting, not two men in their prime

On paper, it looks like a great win, but the results did not change the course of boxing history. It was just another fight in the grand scheme of things.

However if I understood the question, I would rank Hopkins - Trinidad as the best win of any fighter over the last 20 years. Then I might take Pacquiao over Barerra I.

So you must believe the surgery Pac had on his torn rotator cuff after the fight was just BS then he wasnt injured at all ?? The fact a leasing LA surgeon performed the surgery & confirmed it Is just BS ?? I suggest you look at Floyd's claim he had the same injury in Castillo 1, because he got beat. Floyd never had surgery It must have been Ellerbe's comforting caresses that cured his
    bogus injury LOL

I enjoyed the poker game I hosted that night more than the fight, which went exactly as I predicted: Floyd would avoid Pac's attacks with defensive wizardry and throw enough safe punches to win rounds.

This is the same Pacquio who said he healed himself by swimming. He claimed that mayweather did nothing the while fight and that he should have gotten the decision. Then he said God told him in a dream he would lose. Pacquiao was all over the place so I take anything in regards to him with a grain of salt.

If he had the injury before the the fight, his entire team should be sued for withholding information. If not, and he sustained the injury by missing punches and looking foolish for 12 rounds, then we basically have a similar case to Cassius Clay vs Sonny Liston except Pacquiao didn't retire on his stool.

So which is it? Is he a liar/exaggerated his injury? He withheld information about his injury so he could have a built in excuse for losing the most important fight of his career and to get a huge pay day,? Or was he injured during the fight due to being completely outclassed and missing punches?

In all 3 cases he was being deceitful and robbed the people who spent good money on a boring fight where he refused to give it his all.
