Yeah, Pryor's a hell of a fighter. No doubt. I thought Rooster meant how Leonard ranked at welterweight only though, which is that other conversation of Pryor not having a welterweight identity. Sure, it would be a great name to have on his record though. I wouldn't claim otherwise.

 

He is a lock as a top five welterweight anyway. I dont think you can watch Ray Leonard in his prime and say that he isn't. In that regard I dont give a **** about resumes and longevity.

 

The problem is if he beat Curry, perhaps ruined him and Curry never went on to do anything as a result, no one here would rate Curry, few would be familiar with him. A Pryor win would be rated highly after he knocked Arguello off, but ofcourse plenty would talk of Pryor being the smaller man.

I was just thinking the same thing. Its like a completely different outlook on a subject that was argued and debated for ages by the same person. Forgive me rooster but i just dont get your reasoning for the huge change of tact. Have you seen something recently to change your train of thought?

Me too, then the haters would be going berko that he took on a fighter that wasn't even in his division and there were more deserving fighters campaining at 147 etc etc etc. No matter what he did it would not have been good enough
