Dude had incredible power. That right hand was a f*cking missile!

Where do you guys rank him @ Heavy in terms of power?

Punching power in the top tier. Guys like Mercer and even a shot Tyson had
iron chins, but Lewis KOed a lot of big tough superheavies. Punching power
has to be 10/10 or 9/10 the least.

His size meant he couldn't always sit down on his power, but even then it is impressive. I was never impressed with his jab or left hook, but his right hand and uppercut were showstoppers. Still, it diminishes him as an all-around puncher.

He's a big man, and explosive. Makes sense that he hits like a ton o' bricks.

Very upper echelon. He was able to hurt guys without completely selling out on his shots. When he had them hurt then he would start cranking on his shots with abandon.

Have to agree with what's said so far. Big man, long levers, and put weight into his shots. I think that right hand either as the uppercut or a sort of hook (it was never that straight a punch) must rate among the biggest shots thrown by a heavyweight.

I think Lewis was one of the more powerful of all time especially his big right hand. He had clear 1 punch KO power much like Foreman, Tua, Tyson and Shavers.

He threw an overhand right, really. He got his bodyweight right behind it and it was a really heavy, clumping punch. I wouldn't class Lewis with a Foreman or Louis, though because he didn't commit as much. If he had their mentality he would have crushed Holyfield; Lewis was too reticent to really go for it at times. When he did, he was really impressive.

That pesky Holyfield. I would put Lewis up there with Foreman, Louis,
and Tyson. Consistently throughout his career if Lewis was getting
outclassed technically he would resort to his physicality and punching
power as in the Bruno fight. A motivated Lewis could bomb out many
heavyweights in the first two rounds. Watch the Botha KO, frightening.

As I say, I think Lewis had big time power, but he could be cagey with it. Perhaps he was wary of Holyfield's hook? I wasn't a big Lennox fan at the time, but in retrospect he has a good CV/resume. For sheer thudding power, he rates highly, too.

I wouldn`t want Lennox Lewis hitting me. :nut

Nobody would. He was powerful and had those skills and Ring IQ to set up that power. Tough combination to beat.

He was a monster puncher and he flattened many monster heavyweights. Even the fights where he did not stop them like Mercer and Mavrovic, the guys knew they were really hit. The bombs Mercer absorbed in that fight were frightening.
