    Not highly.

Wilder would lose a lot of fights early in his career, if he would have fought top 10 guys

I agree. When the smoke clears after all this Fury, Wilder, Joshua, Usyk stuff, there's a good chance we'll all see that the two best heavyweights have already faced each other three times.

I agree it's easily the best HW trilogy of the era and although I don't think much of Wilder's skills, he was & still is, probably the most dangerous HW on the planet. Gotta give Fury some points for coming back from some pretty crushing knockdowns, as much as I hate saying it.

Only Fury so far has been able to beat Wilder as a pro, when Wilder retires if he still only has losses to Fury then the Fury wins are elevated, however as there both still fighting they can’t be fully assessed correctly until they have both stopped fighting . The trilogy they shared was the biggest Heavyweight fights and rivalry of this era .

As we all know, John L. Sullivan was the Tyson Fury of the 19th century, bold, brash, strong and a bit out of shape.

The technique argument cuts both ways. On one hand Wilder was not fundamentally sound and a skilled guy like Fury would have no problem winning. On the other hand, Wilder has to be among the most deadly punchers ever. Regardless of who he fights, he manages to land the bomb. Fury did not nullify the bomb, he survived it.
I have critisized the win only because of the over the top Fury fans pretty much crapped all over Wilder in the lead up to the fights and kept pouring it on throughout the trilogy. But, once Fury started talking about retiring and only having Wlad and Wilder as his best wins, then they started this narrative that Wilder is something special. Now, in all fairness, I have asked Fury's super fans to show me posts pumping Wilder up as special prior to the 1st fight. To my knowledge, no body posted anything in response. It could still happen. I haven't read every post.

Would anyone still favour Walcott if the fight was scheduled for 20-25 rounds?

It's one of his best wins that's for sure and Wilder is undeniably a top 5 fighter of this era. But it's a win that people can easily criticise as Wilder's best win was against an old Ortiz who he struggled with both times and even Ortiz himself isn't that tested with his best win being Charles Martin.

It's a shame Wilder didn't fight Ruiz or anyone else who's more proven because in terms of his ability he's somewhere between Ortiz and Fury and we don't know where he lies in the spectrum between those two fighters.

His win in fight 2 was excellent. One of the best HW wins in the last 20 years. The way he fought on the front foot was brave and classy.

Fight 1 was only impressive because of where he had come from mentally and physically.

Fight 3 was exciting but the actual quality was pretty poor from both fighters.

Slightly higher than if he had fought David Rodriguez or Chauncey Welliver thrice instead.

I,d say very highly....with only one real problem....we still dont really know how good wilder actually is because outside of fury hes only really had a couple of real fights. The most noteworthy being 2 wins against a 40 year old ortiz where he was losing most of the rounds. Tbf i rate ortiz but it is what it is.

Pretty much depends on what wilder does going forward. But regardless it was and is a tremendous achievement that first fight considering where fury came from....miles overweight etc. Went in against at the time possibly the best or second best heavyweight in the world probably a bit too early and boxed his ears off. I think fury easily handling whyte and chisora....without any sort of problem shows wilders actually pretty good.

Still think he still has to prove himself a bit wilder....in danger of finishing up without us knowing for sure he really was that good. I rate him tho. Dangerous fella with an outstandjng punch and for me underrated tactics. Breland had him fighting to his strengths perfectly.

As this era goes, I would rate his wins (all THREE, but especially number two) very highly.

But IMO, they are not overly impressive when looking at other great HW wins of the past.

Braddock over Baer, Schmeling over Louis, Ali over Liston, Frazier over Ali, Norton over Ali (Twice, IMO), Ali over Foreman, Spinks over Holmes, Douglas over Tyson.
    And a bunch more...

But Fury and Wilder were both in the top three when they met...perhaps 1 and 2.

So the wins have to be considered as both great and important to the division and to the sport.
