Hagler is one of my favorites as well. The only fighter besides what a Leonard did to get under his skin in the ring, I'd have to say the only time you would truly see Marvin puzzled would be Vs a MW Robinson.

And although Haglers fights event always pretty he got the job done in style. His losses I would even say he didn't look terrible...just not the Hagler we were used to. Enter Duran!!! I really believe that if he wouldn't been so careful with Roberto and just decided to brawl with him Duran would have gotten his ass busted.

Top 3... I find it amusing that Benn and GMan are mentioned as being better... Benn, are we serious ? Hagler would have eaten up him and then stopped him...Does anyone really think that either of these guys can stop or hurt Hagler ? Who had arguably the best chin ever at middle...

Funny thing about Hagler,, I rate Hearns ahead of him. Hearns fought better guys than Hagler did and had a more iconic career spanning all weights. Hagler did well H2h with Hearns.

top 10 ATG at middleweight, he had a great chin, could box and had power. I seen his limitations vs Duran, Leonard and the first Antufermo fight but also seen him blast out some good fighters in Hearns,Roldan,Minter,Hamsho, and others

Not a chance. Nobody is gonna hand Duran his ass, brawling with him. Up close is where Roberto showed his class, and redoubtable skills.

Hearns was the only person who handed Duran his ass, but Hearns handed a lot of guys thier ass, yet that was not up close, that was from a distance. Hagler didn't fight aggressive enough, had he pushed the fight more I think he stops Duran in about 7 or 8. No doubt. It would not have been a knockout like the Hearns fight it would have been the ref. waving it off.

it just hit me, u can have any of the top three Greb, Monzon, and hagler in any order and you would still be right becuz there is very little to choose from

the three of them are in such exclusive company. It's like the Beatles (Greatest Band EVER). Their talents were so exceptional, with talent on loan from God, that few others could ever approach their level of success & dedication. I call that exclusive company. and to think, that two of them were within months of facing each other

That is highly debatable. Possibly the best songwriting team ever, but a **** " band "

For great bands you have to look for in no particular order, the likes of.

    Led Zepp
    Free
    The Eagles
    Guns & Roses
    Deep Purple
    Floyd
    Supertramp
    ZZ Top
    Cream
    Traffic
    Humble Pie
    etc, etc.

I think Hagler is very good but I also think hes overrated. There are a lot of MWs who would have beaten him. He was a guy who was very well rounded but didnt do any one thing great (kinda like Hopkins) but he was also mentally kinda scatter brained which shows in his fights with Antuofermo 1, 2, Leonard, and Duran. The guy used to go on and on about how he was ambidextrous (he still does actually) but he was downright ordinary when he fought as a righty and for some reason he chose to fight (and give up) the first four rounds of the biggest fight of his career doing this. He was always playing the tough guy role and then gets intimidated by an older ex lw and never really tries to press him, opting instead to box and minimize exchanges. Against Antuofermo Hagler did the opposite, he lost his head, quite boxing midway through the fight, and let Antuofermo wear him down late. People can dispute that decision all they want but it was a lot closer than Haglers fans let on and a lot closer than it should have been if you believe them about Haglers greatness. In the rematch Hagler made the idiotic decision to blatantly headbutt Antuofermo (hed been complaining since before they met the first time that Antuofermo threw headbutts). The resulting cut caused a stoppage win for Hagler but could have just as easily been a DQ loss. I think some of the great middleweights of the past beat Hagler in a variety of ways. I think Walker, Greb, Robinson, Fullmer, Klaus, ODowd, Gibbons, Steele, LaMotta, Giardello, and Hopkins beat Hagler. Id give Tiger a good shot as well depending on what style Hagler fought in. If Hagler tried to bring the fight to Tiger hed get his ass kicked. If he tries to box its a gimme. Now, that list of fighters is relatively short in the LONG list of talented MWs but it also shows that people who have Hagler ranked so high are overrating him.

I think I'd agree with you here. I think Marvin was a great champ but the middleweight division is very deep in talent, all kinds of styles. All top fighters fighters have bad nights but like you say if Marvin could have bad nights against Duran for example who he should of been a bit more assertive against, Antuofermo 1st fight and Leonard, whatever the reasons you believe he lost. It's not out of the question that he could of had trouble with former champs, specially boxers and fellas who really knew their trade. Sometimes it's easy to say that dominant champs were dominant because they ruled a weak division but sometimes it's because they made the division look weak. Those three fights I mention make me wonder how he'd of went against the generation that followed him. I'd liked to of seen McCallum against him. I think big punching and cavalier sort of fighters he could look great against. I just wonder what he could of been like against the slicksters. Great fighter though, overrated, possibly!

I was more a disco afficionado who saw them as some talented Brits. but when you look at all their number one hits 64 & 65 here in the states, and later from later work, it points to mass appeal which nowadays, no artist has.

I always say if an artist has to rely on gimicks to get attention, (lady Gaga, Beyonce), they're not that good as an artist

and if you cant remember a song after fifteen minutes, then they must suck

the worst genre of music ever? I'm ure you will agree; RAP, what else! It's not even music and is inspired by thugs and that sort of people

what ever happened to Ray Parker Jr? he was such a hot artist and never heard from again
