How Highly Do You Rate(or do you rate at all) Anselmo Moreno?

I was on Sweetboxing earlier (I use it to download fights, never intended to debate but I saw Moreno's name and felt the need to comment) and the poster 'Obama' (you may be familiar with him) who is really a top notch forum poster and the IB of that website, claimed what I posted earlier. I was pretty shocked. I mean, if someone as established as that is getting sucked in by the hype, then who else is going to start proclaiming captain average as the saviour of the lower weights?

    :-(

I've never been there, nor have I encountered that guy, but:

    :pc

    AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

I've had enough of this Moreno love-in. Y'know what I was once told by that guy BigBone in the general, what he had the audacity to tell me? That just because Moreno wasn't as exciting as the other guys doesn't mean he wasn't as good, that I should appreciate him more.

Is that guy trying to tell me, Cristian Mijares-stalker Jpab, that I can't appreciate a fighter that isn't exciting?

I'm choking on my own rage from reading some of this stuff.

Obama is the dude who uploads every fight that airs onto megaupload for you to download. If you downloaded a fight recently, it was probably uploaded by that guy. He's also quality at uploading recent films, and pornography. You should get yourself on sweetboxing, they've got career threads on everyone (and I mean EVERYONE), most televised fights available too. I've watched most of Jose Luis Castillo's career in the last couple of days, and I would have never got that opportunity without the access from SB.

BigBone can be pretty condescending. I not saying he is, but I hate elitist boxing fans. They're even worse than the idiots on this forum if you ask me. The idiots may be thick, but at least they don't have personality problems. Moreno is boring and he is average, that is the crux of it. We don't appreciate him, because he is simply not that good and that's it. People think they can exercise their 'knowledge' on him because they've seen him fight, and think nobody else has, it's ridiculous.

I don't really download fights, just watch them live for the most part and YouTube all the old stuff. Might give it a look though, except for porn, I've got to be on my toes after recent events you dirty Arab.

He's awfully pretentious. Telling everyone that Miguel Vazquez would box the ears off everyone at lightweight. Really? Apparently his performance against Prescott was extremely impressive, because Prescott wasn't average, no, he was ruined due to Titero. Come on, Rasta, let's not try to seem more knowledgeable by making claims that most people wouldn't be able to dispute because they don't know much about the guy.

Generally, 'boring' fighters are like that because they have some skill to them, because they can get away with fighting in first gear and still finding it easy, which is why I think the likes of Mijares and Calderon are pretty much geniuses at what they do.

Moreno is so far away from that it's mad, fighting full throttle throughout to just keep the guy off of you, a guy who isn't even that good anymore(Syd, Mahyar), is not the sign of some excellent, slick, counter-punching outside fighter.

If Moreno was half as good as some think he is he'd be twice as good as he is.

The Sweetboxing DL library had me foaming at the mouth, so many ****ing fights. I'm not even remotely close to watching all the fights I want to watch, there's so many careers I'm yet to go through (got career threads, 100's of them for nearly every fighter). Gonna watch some more Junior Jones today, might delve into some Narvaez too :yep.

Everyone? That is a statement and a half. I don't really like Vazquez, and he's not that great if you ask me. Just seems to run around, pot-shotting and staying out of harms way, not much to marvel at there, his handspeed is average and his power limited. If he wasn't Mexican, then his style wouldn't be lauded at all, and he'd be perceived as nowt too special IMO. He doesn't really excell in any area, just got good foot movement and pot-shotting ability. Rios would break him, Marquez would damage him, Acosta would probably pummel him and Linares would dominate him. I rated Soto higher, personally.

    Agreed :good

Just watch the Seda fight really, if you're watching Narvaez at all is what I generally tell people, it's his defining performance against arguably his best opponent, and is essentially a summation of him as a fighter.

If you're watching anybody, check out Miguel Canto.;)

And yep, he said the guy would beat JMM and Rios. Insane. Aguacerito would rip him about four new orifices. I see nothing particularly great about him, he's on the fringes of the best in the division, but a level above the fringe contenders.

Stick him in with Paulus Moses. Stick somebody in with Paulus Moses.

The only issue I have with Narvaez is that enormous rug on his chest. It's quite off putting when you're trying to appreciate his skill :yep

Canto looks interesting, I'll put him on the list.

What is Paulus Moses up to anyway?

:yep Yeah, reckon he could cut down to light-fly if he shaved it off. Imagine how big it would be if he moved up to bantam like he was considering.:scaredas:

Canto's the second most skilled fighter I've ever seen.:deal

Moses is being a one man bellend convention and refusing to leave Namibia, because he makes money there, hence he's wasting the best years of his career by waiting for a big fight to just float into Windhoek. He's had two fights against sub-par oppostion where he's looked great, but hasn't fought in 5 months as he's waiting for something to present itself.

    Shame, dude's got skillz.

I can't wait to see him in action then.

Hate it when fighters do that. He needs to get back on the scene, quick. No point wasting away doing nothing and fighting nobodies for the Namibian Lightweight title, he can at least try to re-establish himself at world level.
