Remember the chanting British a week before the Mayweather fight?
The crazy mood on fight night?
The stunning pro-Hatton support in the MGM?

I remember... and another US vs. UK fight is coming so let me ask this:

How hyped is Las Vegas a few days before the Hopkins-Calzaghe fight?
Can anyone riport how big is the support for both fighters?
    Is it a sell-out already?
    Anyone hear chanting?

If someone is out there in the desert, plese inform us what the hell's going on in LAS VEGAS! :hi:

I live in Vegas...there is no hype other than a few billboards. Santa Fe station which is a locals casino is going to show the fight.

boxing doesn't bring in as much hype UFC fights do.

    it is what it is..

Sorry for all you british fans but nobody still has ever heard of Calzaghe at least in Las Vegas. You guys should log onto www.reviewjournal.com and you can get a sense of how much hype is going into the fight under the sports section.. A few paragraphs here and there and that's about it.

  8. I live here in Vegas, by Boulder Station about 4 miles from the strip and to be honest, there was more hype for the Hatton-Mayweather fight last year, Calzaghe just dosen't excite the people like Hatton i suppose:-( and there isn't as much press as the Sat night UFC fight:patsch oh well i guess it's time to acknowledge the fact that the UFC-MMA Goons are taking over what little fans the fight game has left..

I Thought I Would See Alot Of Support, But Nah, I Didnt....

But Last Night On Rob And Bigs Season Finale, When Rob And Big Were Thinking Of Names, Rob Said "how About Bernard The Executioner Boykin" Ahahahahahhahhahahaahha I Thought That Was Funny As ****..

Thats what I dont get, why would Hopkins even take this fight if he didnt think he could seriously win? He is obviously not fighting for the money, he could get alot more money against lesser threats in fighting Tito or Pavlik.

Hey DIckweed, the review journal IS the local paper. I'm really happy that you were able to get that **** of jelly ready for that yawn-a-thon known as Calzaghe vs Kessler. Freakin' Kessler for God's sake. I watched the fight at the palms and let me tell you, I've seen better action at a bingo parlor. The great Royce Feurr (sp) used to write great boxing articles for the RJ. Now its Kevin Iole. Kevin Iole does a great job at covering boxing but its not the same now that Royce retired.

Now being a resident of Las Vegas for some 22 years, I've seen the decline of boxing as it relates to the residents or locals. Some people will walk by the sportsbooks and get a glimpse at who's boxing but the majority are busy popping 10 dollars into their favorite slot machine. Some of the guys will stick around the sportsbook and watch the fight but this fight is not as big an event as you would like it to be.

So get your sleeping bag ready Mr. Prescott and get ready for the sweet science tomorrow that will showcase two old guys going at it like you and your old woman. Slow and boring

I don't think Calzaghe fans are like that ... I think the cheering and the band was all Hatton.

Calzaghe fans are more reserved and will just stick to cheering during action.
