After re-watching PBF JLC I noticed something amazing that PBF does. He is kind of a pre-emptive counter puncher (an oxymoron, I know) But JLC was feinting a lot, but instead of drawing a shot from PBF to counter himself PBF has the speed of thought, foot and fists to unload a combo and move away from the danger zone AT THE SAME TIME!.

Later in the fight however when JLC went for broke a bit more, he had greater success. In short hesitate in front of PBF and you lose. If you try to work out what he's going to do next and out think him, you lose. In fact there are lots of ways you can lose to PBF, he really is quite special.

Now the good news for Hatton fans. Hatton does not feign shots and hesitate, he gets shots off first. He hits AS he comes forward rather than using footwork to get in rabge then fire, it is simultaneous. Also Hatton says he has the style to beat PBF and I think that breaks down like this:

Hatton plans to (IMO) tie him up, tire him out then finish him off late. I think he struggled against Colazo because he was such a big WW Hatton tired HIMSELF out by his mauling style, pushing all that weight around fatigued Hatton. PBF is smaller and like it or loath it clinching and mauling is very difficult to defend against. Especially as Hatton moves forward so quick, he can latch on to PBF from round one, I have no doubts about that.

So I think Hatton will probably lose about 4 of the first 6 rounds win one with one even then go on the offensive proper.

Not saying he'll definatley win but I reckon this is how Hatton and Graham are planning to approach the fight.

Come Dec 9th Braitain will have the NO 1 & 2 P4P best fighters in the world, it would be difficult to argue against that.:bbb :happy :yep

Exactly - the person who will beat Floyd is somebody who doesn't give him time to thing or breathe. However, while Hatton will be first to get off, I don't see him winning because he leaves himself too open coming in.

As long as Hatton can take shots coming in and counter with a damaging shot of his own then he has a chance

Lol man the Hatton hoes are worried :D .. at the end of the day that's pure speculation of course, planing it and being able to do it are two different things, the FACTS state that Floyd has the better defence, has more speed with his punches, has the height and reach advantage, better movement, much better technical ability and last but not least while Hatton struggled with a man at WW Floyd managed to hurt and beat a man who's fought for the middleweight title (Oscar) so there's no doubt Floyd can and will hurt Ricky during this fight, how is Ricky gonna handle that?, he was barely able to stand up in the last round against Collazo and if he's in that position against Floyd he will be finished off no doubt, i really can't weight for next week as i feel Floyd has a chance to really look good in there.

I've been waiting for this fight since Hatton beat Tszyu. I really wanted to see it at 140. I know these are the same fighters I wanted to see fight a division below, but it seems as though the fight would have been different at 140. I don't know why.

Anyway. Hatton has everything it takes to beat Floyd; pressure, chin, strength, and stamina. The problem with Hatton is how wide he holds his guard when he is on the offensive. His disregard for his own face when he is looking to do his little side step and unload moves is what will give Floyd his best chance for victory. Look at what Collazo did to him at times. I realize Collazo is bigger than Floyd, and is a southpaw. Collazo also isn't as fast as Mayweather and isn't on Mayweather's level.

If Hatton can trap Mayweather on the ropes, and get him in the same kind of trouble Corley did, he could finish him. If he puts him on the ropes often enough, and unloads power shots, Hatton could outpoint him.

If Mayweather uses his superior hand and foot speed to take advantage of Hatton's aggresion and wide guard, he could make Hatton look as bad as he did Gatti. An I told you so mismatch, as he lands combination after combination to the onrushing fighter, that is in a higher class than Gatti, reduced to the same level as Gatti was in his fight with Floyd.

Maybe we get extremely lucky, and have a mixture of the possibilities I mentioned above. That is what I am rooting for. I really don't even want to make a prediction on this one, as it will cause me to pull one way or another. I just want sit back and enjoy what could be a great show.

That's probably how they plan to approach the fight, but at the end of the day the best boxer is going to win and his name is.....FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you'll find it's Floyd who will do all the hugging in this fight...everytime Ricky pins him to the ropes, Floyd would be wise to grab Hatton straight away to stop the pressure to his body.

Plan and simple PBF will win. Remember the footspeed and counter punches of PBF. Hattons style has changed over the years he's not the same fighter he once was. He beat or got a lucky punch against JLC but I feel if he warmed up he would have beat Hattons ass.

IM GLAD THIS THREAD FINALLY CAME UP. In order to beat Floyd, u have to inflict pressure constantly and consistantly. Its so obvious Myaweather doesnt like pressure and needs the room to punch and move around. I say all Hatton has to do is keep his center right on top of Floyds. Floyd cant fight at that close a range, and with a consistant body attack, Hatton can win the fight.
