Thanks man :thumbsup And no worries, there's nothing wrong with burgers. Good of you to do, sign of a caring coach.

But that's what he wants. He should get in his face and make it ugly but he can't stay there. If Cotto couldn't afford to, Guerrero won't.

    Make him chase dammit. Somebody.

    :deal:yep

I don't expect Guerrero to be doing much of it though. He'll fall into the same pattern that pretty much everyone has against Floyd. I'm thinking he might pick up 2 rounds.

He can't employ any of those tactics. He is out if his league

I'd tell him to double up with his left, simple as that really. Not much else he can do to Floyd

I agree that it's a good strategy to beat Floyd. Guerrero is definitely not the guy to pull it off, though.

Strangely enough...the best person I can think of to execute this strategy is still Pacquiao. Probably still wouldn't work, because Mayweather is just that good. But Guerrero just doesn't have the physical tools to pull it off, and i think Mayweather will adjust to it pretty quickly if Guerrero tries it.

I always thought Pacquiao had the best chance at employing an ambush strategy. At the very least he'd have the footspeed to keep him wary early and the power to possibly score a flash knockdown and build on it before Floyd adjusts in the second half. But Guerrero? Much more difficult to do. A better mauler, a better jabber/out-fighter, but a much less explosive fighter overall.

Bogo did you see Guerrero on In This Corner demonstrating how he establishes lead foot positioning by using his jab.

    Great thread.

I dunno how you beat Floyd, but I do know that he occasionally drops his left guard at the wrong time. These moments are pretty rare, because he has an amazing ability to sense when a punch is coming & when it isn't, but if a fighter were to fake moving back, out of the pocket, then move it with a straight right, (or better, a fast OH right in case Floyd still gets his shoulder up) I think Floyd can be hit and hurt.

I just don't see Guerrero doing it. He isn't fast enough, especially not his footwork.

Maybe if he simply throws a LOT of 3-5 punch flurries, he might get it with a few as Floyd changes position. Of course, then he's gonna' get countered into Sunday, so .....
