I hear every post say "dana this" and "dana that"...but how important is he really...I know he is only a minor partner from a stockholder stand point...of course he could have other GM or CEO type duties...still he would ultimatley be under the authority of Zuffa... Anyhow...how much real power does he have...how much is figure head status.
Who cares to be honest. Dont give a **** what he has to say personally. Im a fan of MMA and prefere to pay him no mind. I find it quite funny that the anti UFC brigade are the ones who spend the most time posting about Dana's latest comments Just enjoy the fights, that's my philosophy
Dana owns a 10% stake in Zuffa. Its pretty much the casino owners Brothers who are the real benefactors here. They just pay Dana to run the UFC. Shame it panned out that way as in my opinion the UFC could have been way more successful if Dana wasn't the mouth piece for the organisation. Dana Wields a significant influence mainly because of his mouth and brash personality. Seeing as he's a failed boxing promoter who stumbled upon the bigtime when the UFC went broke its hardly surprising he is so aggressively protective over his nest egg. If the UFC ever filed for Chapter 11 he'd probably top himself.
Thing is, Dana says crap all the time to get attention on his business, the same way a fighter thrash talks to hype up a fight, hense doing his job properly as a promoter. I love every interview with Dana White, it's always interesting, he might not always speak the truth but at least he ain't boring. The worst thing you can do is hate him too much or kiss his ass too much, he spits out 33.3% crap, 33.3% honest truth and 33,4% ''F words''. If you hate just don't listen to him at all. In the end, I think he's doing a proper job with his company.
Do you guys remember the Movie Casino where Pesci, De Niro in it and the movie was a true story about the Chicago Outfit Mafia that took over Vegas? IMO Dana White is in a similar situation as Phillip Green (played by Kevin Pollak) where he is the president of the gaming association or casino joint but in reality and in the down low, there is actually a real boss behind it that controls everything the public don't know.
Do you have the documents? Obviously no poster on here will now 100% but it seems to me Dana is the mouthpiece but the Fettitas make the decisions with him. They seem like genuine friends as opposed to boardroom colleagues
It's just like many other companies in terms of power; Dana is the President, Lorenzo is the CEO. Dana basically runs the organization, while being answerable to Lorenzo. In Zuffa ownership terms each Ferrtitta brother owns 40%, some Sheik owns 10 and Dana owns 10, so the brothers have to agree to make a decision, the other 2 are just minority owners. I'm not sure if Dana has a job title within Zuffa outside of the UFC, where he is the President.
Does no body know how to use Google and Wikipedia these days? I may aswell give my 10% back FFS! Lynchburg
