How in the hell does Cotto get a title shot after that beating?

Foreman is making a voluntary defence of his title.
    End of thread.

Exactly, Bob Arum knows that Yuri Foreman has a short shelf life as a champion, so what better way than to cash out than to put him in with one of your star fighters who was recently beat. Cotto gets a belt and thrown back into the top of a division, while Foreman makes some cash. And if Foreman pulls off the upset his value will increase exponentially.

Bob Arum isn't a complete idiot, he knows how to work the angles.

Boxing is not what it used to. Before if you lost by KO, you start from the bottom again. And there were mandatory challengers by rankings. Not anymore.

That is not true LOL getting beat when you are a hot fighter nearly always will get you a shot at any of the champions because they think you are gone.

The same way Pac got a title shot at Cotto's belt despite not fighting for it in the allocated weight class.

Cotto's not at fault here, I think he's more than earned the shot.

I dont think it sends a good message to the children that after you lose you deserve a title shot.

When Haye a unified Cruiser champ tryed to get a shot at the HW belt after one H W fight every one cried.

I think its fair if your a champ and you challenge up in weight you deserve a title shot.

Cotto does not deserve this . Boxing needs reform .

Okay, lets be serious though. We all want to see the best fight the best, and if cotto fought an opponent of a lesser caliber than even Yuri Foreman we would all be complaining that he's fighting bums. I like that guys like ricky and Cotto want to get right back into things, they're real fighters. Who cares about the belts anway.

Then Let Yuri fight Sergio Martinez or Paul Williams, whom are more deserving of the fight than him.

I think you'll find he won that close, but clear, fight with Shane.

No, he didn't. Go and have a look at both fighters' records and you'll see that your opinion on who won, has **** all to do with who actually won.

reason pacquaio got a world title fight at welterweight right away is because he is the pound for pound champ...

    money talks

pacquaio makes lots of money so he gets big fights

so does cotto which is why he is getting this fight

    all business
