I just saw that he was the favorite. WHY?

    He got schooled by Quintana.

I hope all his huggers wont say because he was weight drained. PW is a big WW and better get used to being "weight drained" if he wants to stay at WW. After the fight his fans said his lack of activity was due to him being weight drained. It was Quintanas foot work getting outside of range or whenever he was in range he would unload his combinations and clinch. A B fighter like PW just wasnt able to adjust.
Does anyone know what PW weighed on fight night against Margarito???

YEs me too. Last time i bet all my Vcash on Quintana when the odds were something like 8-1. Actually on the flip side. Yes make PW the big favorite again. I will surely be betting more than Vcash this time around.

However it doesnt make sense to me why PW would be the favorite.

    Does it??

This is a mystery to me. I thought Quintana's win was quite convincing.

I really hope Quintana got a good purse for this fight. Last i heard he was gonna get the same as the first which is bull**** since he holds the title now.

Vegas usually gets their odds about right. But then again they sometimes make obvious mistakes like Casa vs Katsidis or Hatton vs Floyd

so he was 15 lbs over the limit on fight night. 17 on the Quintana fight.

So how was he weight drained in one and not the other???

Its a bull**** excuse. You can throw alot of punches at a stationary target like Margo. (Not to mention Margo had an off night) But its hard to throw punches when your opponet is using great angles and is either out of range, hitting you, or clinching you.

Hatton-PBF??? What were the odds like in that fight??

PBF was a huge favorite IMO. i had it chalked up as an easy win for PBF.

PBF was about 1/2, which imo is a slight favorite for such an easy fight to pick

Wow that is crazy. It really shows that even the bookies believe the hype behind a fighter. Just like Katsidis too as you said. I predicted a late rd TKO in that fight and people laughed at me here. They went too much by his performance in Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is much better than Katsidis and Casa had ring rust too.

Let's give it a break. Yes, CQ won and I was excited for him especially his son witnessing the fight. Let him win the rematch and then he will be considered one of the best at WW. I also believe PW will beat him in the rematch and possilby stop him. He will redeem himself by beating the only fighter that he has lost to and then hopefully for him, he will move up in weight. I say this due to so many threads after someone loses "oh, I knew he got lucky the first time", "I told you PW was weight drained", etc. Point: WITTER!!!!

Williams is the favorite because everyone is betting on him. Vegas odds makers cannot see into the future. The odds are supposed to reflect the feelings of the betting public. Vegas wants even money on both fighters and then they profit off the Vig. If the betting public feels that Willimas is going to win, and Vegas makes Quintana the favorite, heavy money will be bet on Williams. Now if Paul wins the fight, Vegas will lose out big time as all the money is on Williams.

When he wins, I am going to try to get close enough to ask him a few questions, the most important though:

When the hell are you going to move up to JMW where you belong?

Seriosuly, weight-drained or not, he does not belong at WW, it's not like he even uses his size as an advantage. He's just killing his body to make weight, and still trying to battle these fit guys on the inside.

Paul Williams is obviously the favourite for the rematch and that is all based on two factors - their resumés and their first match. On the later, Quintana found a way to capitalize systematically on some of Williams' flaws and technical-physical disadvantages to win a 2 point decision... If we can all agree on this, there's no way to disagree on Williams using a different approach and taking it.
