How inconceivable is it now for Floyd to have beaten Margarito?

I don't think he could've (or even tried) to stop Margarito, but i have little doubt that he could've pulled a similar performance that Mosley did. It's no secret that the straight right hand (lead) is one of Mayweather's best punch and we saw how well it worked against the Mexican. We also know that Mayweather's conditioning is great and that the chances of him slowing down past the 7th, like Mosley, are very slim.

Margarito is a slow flat footed fighter. PBF would have eaten him alive.

Would you like for Floyd to come out of retirement and fight Margarito and school him? Because that is what would happen.

PBF may not have stopped Margo but he would have schooled him. As anyone saw last night Margo is a plodder with no defense he's a sucker for the right hand and PBF arguably has the best right hand in the game. PBF also knows how to effectively clinch. Also PBF has a great jab to the body and like Mosley PBF would have been able to land that punch on Margo at will. PBF would have beaten Margo the same way he beat Baldo I;ve been saying it for years. He would have made Margo look like an amatuer plodding and following PBF around the ring swinging at air and getting countered to hell and back. PBF wins by wide UD:deal

i agree floyd could mirror shane's domination but only if he's as aggressive as shane was. floyd's tactics for a fight have usually been sound and he's one of the few fighters who can keep a clear head in the ring and follow his corner's instructions to a tee.

PBF likes to fight off the ropes and also is not strong enough to clinch with Margo. Mosley is strong as an ox.

Its a different fight altogether. Don't forget Cotto beat Mosley, who beat Margo, who beat Cotto. Styles make fights.

This is why people wanted to actually see the fight... rather than just discussing "shoulda, woulda, coulda.

The interest in Floyd vs Margo is that everyone knows that Floyd wouldn't be able to knock him out... and everyone knows that Margo would be outboxed early... but bringing the heat all night long. Would Floyd have been able to stand up to the constant pressure from Margo? That was the question. A different fighter being able to handle Margo's pressure doesn't show how Floyd would be able to do it.

Floyd wins every round, if he stays on the ropes too much he'd make more of a meal of it than necessary
