Floyd Mayweather announced his return via a press conference hours before Manny Pacquiao destroyed Ricky Hatton on May 2, 2009 with the intention of stealing thunder from Pac's spotlight and indirectly letting Pac and his team know that the "best" fighter in the world retired and his moniker as p4p no.1 was taken from him not by a loss but by technicality due to retirement.

AND now 6 years later, this will culminate on May 2, 2015 to determine between the two of them who the best welterweight is in today's generation.

It isn't even remotely ironic. Coincidental, perhaps, yes.

There's a nice symmetry to it, even, but the Mayweather v Pacquiao thing had already been rumbling before that even.

It was already "secretly" announced a week before Hatton vs Pacquiao that Mayweather is indeed announcing his return on Saturday, May 2nd 2009.

I don't mean to be a pedant but please look up the definition of irony in the dictionary. As for the content of your post, I have no idea what you're on about. What is your point?
