This guy is the same guy who RANG THE BELL to save his fighter during a fight against Danny Williams.

The man should have been removed from boxing for life, and yet he is Juan Carlos Gomez's promoter.

I agree. What he did is about as criminal as it gets. Boxing needs to get rid of people like that.

I agree, it is a travesty for German boxing that the man is still allowed within 5km of a boxing arena.

A ban for life plus 2 years in jail would have been appropriate.

You guys do know that the ring bell "accident" happened in Spain and that Öner isn't dealing with any german sanctioning bodies don't you? In Fact a lot of his bigger shows are held outside of Germany. Wasn't he promoting a show in the US just a few weeks ago?

I always thought boxing needed X-boxers as judges and referees.

I am not relly fond of him either, but you have to give him credit for the tough matchmaking of his boys.

His promising young heavy weight talent Kretschman is scheduled to face Bakhtov, and Kretschman's stablemate Aurich will face Ondrej Pala. Both fights can really go either way. Very tough matchmaking.
Compare Donell Holmes,Chazz Witherspoon,Malik Scott's fight record or that of some of the other protected young American heavies with padded records with those of Oener's boys!!
Props to his matchmaking! He for sure is not a very likeable human being, and I quite agree with axe that he should have banned from any fight arena for a couple of years,but..........honour where honour is due.
Very tough and interesting matchmaking! Most of the American promoters could surely take a leaf out of Oener's book inasmuch as matchmaking is concerned.

The problem with Öhner's matchmaking is, that he promises tons of great fights but they never happen. Just take a look at the planned Botha - Solis fight and some other matches which got canceled.
