How is Alvarez-Smith different from the fights we get from GGG?

Big day of boxing ahead but it seems the most talked about thing is the announcement from GBP, now as a fan I'm not interested in this fight but for the detractor's how is this any worse than the average fights we get from the new fan favorite GGG?

All we hear from the typical GGG fight is bullsh!t about title's and all that even though he's fighting garbage opponents, so what exactly is the difference?
If Smith was the WBO MW Champ with the exact same resume, would GGG fans discredit the fight or hide behind unification like they currently do.

This isn't to big up a Alvarez-Smith fight because personally it's a disappointment, I trying to figure out what is the difference from what I can tell every fighter but GGG gets bashed for sh!tty fights like this why is that?

Good points: Smith is a champion.

Bad Points: Canelo is going to outweigh him by a vast margin given his main skill is cutting weight

Ugly Point: Canelo is only fighting Smith because if you say the name of the guy that he should be fighting, Golovkin, he immediately drops a brownie into his shorts.

Only fighter you can legit say Alvarez was bigger than is Khan and Mayweather Alvarez come into the ring the same weight as most JMWs and MWs currently.

While I'm interested in a fight with GGG, why isn't there more onus on GGG to push for fight's? I personally wanted that fight in the fall but a spade is a spade.

I agree that Golovkin should fight more often and with the best opponents he can find. He's pretty old as a fighter already. Maybe you could convince Jacobs to insist that GGG face him as his mandatory? That would be a good one.

Because Canelo is the a side king master cash cow of boxing who gives huge pay days at the drop of his command.

That means he can fight anyone he wants at any time, and yet we still get ****

Canelo was going to get trashed for whoever he fights after avoiding GGG (or being pushed by GBP to avoid him) but Liam Smith? With or without the title, he's barely a fringe contender, has one notable win in John Thompson who Willie Monroe easily beat a couple of weeks back, who also outboxed Smith for six rounds. Fighting him on ppv after the Khan farce despite promising the GGG fight brings you nothing but hatred and mockery.
