Other duckers get violently criticized and dumped on for the duck. Why is Bivol allowed to continue ducking Beterbiev without significant backlash? Why is he permitted to pick on smaller men like Canelo and avoid the real 175 pounder? And nobody cares. This has been going on for years with him. Beterbiev already said "doesn't matter, anybody". He's already said "let's do it". He's a humble and simple man. Nothing more to see here. Beterbiev has been ready. Why isn't Bivol?
Right now Beterbiev has had a few mandatories while Bivol got the Canelo fight, had a mandatory and now has the Canelo rematch. Criticism will probably be more aimed at him after the Canelo fight and Beterbiev mandatories are done. Ultimately, when Bivol is fighting good competition like Canelo and Zurdo while Beterbiev is fighting Anthony Yarde and Callum Smith, you can't expect too much criticism to be aimed at Bivol in particular. Before these fights, most people didn't know or think much of Dmitry Bivol.
What he said. Why risk a massive payday against the biggest draw in the sport? Also, maybe he doesn't fancy risking a brain bleed by fighting one of the P4P hardest hitting fighters in the sport, who also happens to be one of the dirtiest, who utilizes poorly disguised non-stop illegal rabbit punches as a part of his winning strategy.
Beterbiev is 38 and has visibly slowed down. It's one thing to run away from a 30-year-old monster LHW, but the man is pushing middle age FFS. Stop running.
Because they're shitty refs that favor the A-side. Same reason why Tony Weeks and Lawrence Cole conveniently don't see 100's of low blows only in certain fights but see them in others.
He's not scared of him in the least and he isn't running. @JunlongXiFan gave you the correct answer, and one you don't want to discuss. Instead you prefer to peddle your bull**** made up narrative.
That kid just admitted that Bivol took the easier, less risky, more business friendly fight. It's the textbook definition of a business move.
Yeah, well that's your answer, and as a money grubbing capitalist, you'd do the same ****ing thing, and wouldn't consider it a duck. So why are you trying to frame it as such? Beterbiev has several mandatories, because he holds a few belts and Bivol has a Canelo rematch. Then if he dodges it, you can start peddling this bull****. But as of right now, not even close. So knock it the **** off troll.
Because people pick and choose who they call duckers based on if they like the fighter or not. The fight should've happened years ago.
If I was Bivol I'd do it too. I am a capitalist, but I also live in the real world where greedy money-grubbing decisions have social consequences. Bivol is free to duck Beterbiev and take the easy way out and fight Canelo for the money. It's his prerogative and the smart decision. I also reserve the right to call it what it is, a duck and the less competitive move. It's not a badass move and if you were being honest, you would admit it too. If you were 100% genuine you would admit that fighting Beterbiev would be the move that showed nuts.
If you were 100% genuine, you'd admit you already knew the answer and started this thread to stir the pot, **** on Bivol and blow smoke up Beterbiev's ass, because you're one of the most transparent posters on the site. They were planning to fight in June, but now aren't and the sole reason the fight isn't happening is due to the ghoulishly demonic Mauricio Sulaiman, and you know that. So take it up with him instead of trying to deride Bivol. Of course we could also say.... but, but, but maybe Beterbiev is scared? After all, instead of standing up to Sulaiman and bailing on a mandatory (he can always get it back later), no... instead he's choosing to keep the WBC strap, and take the safer option than go with the stylistic nightmare and unification.
Hearn works for Bivol. I think it's time that Dmitry reminds him of that. Dare Sulaiman to strip them. What's the little rodent going to do? Strip? Call his bluff.
