Friday, July 18 2008 Reliant Arena, Houston, Texas Hector Camacho vs Perry Ballard (light middleweight) Christy Martin vs Valerie Mahfood (welterweight) Camacho, Sr coming back to fight at 154 and just a short time ago, Camacho, Jr. came in at 170. So who really is going to fight Chavez, Jr.? Maybe it is Sr. He is one of my all time favorites, but he is killing himself by coming back.
Camacho Sr. coming back and beating Chavez Jr at 154 would be funny as hell. And ****, a 10% of what he was Camacho might still be capable of outboxing him over 10 rounds. JC Jr is that bad. But obviously, Camacho shouldn't be fighting today.
Macho Jr. should be at 147, or tops 154. 170 is a disgrace. Still, if he can get his weight down he could beat Chavez, Jr. As far as Senior...I thought he was old like 10 years ago when he was fighting on TNF, he probably couldn't even beat a B level talent like Chavez now.
Maybe Camacho, Sr should get his son in the ring and beat the access weight off of him. By the way, does anyone know anything about Camacho's other son? Last I heard he was a very good amatuer prospect.
In 1978, Hector fathered the first of four sons; Hector "Macho" Camacho, Jr. Hector Jr., a/k/a Machito, (Spanish for little macho,) is also a professional boxer, who at 26 years old currently boasts a record of 37-1-0, (20-KO).The three younger Camacho's Justin, MC and Tyler show promise in the sports arena. Justin plays basketball, MC is an up and coming Boxer, and Tyler also boxes. The 4 Camacho boys are Macho's pride and joy. I cut and paste this. I am actually reading the rest now. Good read.
I saw Hector last weekend up at the Hall of Fame, and I'll be VERY suprised if he makes 154 for that July fight. He looked about 180lbs.
