I just don't get it. Cotto all of a sudden is hitting nearly or equally as hard as GGG. How is Cotto who fought and was unable to visibly hurt (let alone drop) smaller guys like Pacquiao, Mosley, Trout, Mayweather, etc. now at age 34 and facing opponents who are larger than any previous opponents is able to run through them? This makes no sense. He just ran through a dude who was in the 180's on fight night that up till the GGG fight was a very durable guy who to my knowledge had never even been dropped by solid middleweights like Sturm, Barker, Mundine and Martinez. Something fishy is going on. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and I know Roach is a great trainer but this is insane! In this era, unless a fighter signs up for random 365 VADA testing (ala Donaire) he is at least suspect imo. Is anyone else wondering about this? Kellerman even alluded to it when he asked him about his insane power in the post fight interview.

GGG is fighting bums. They aren't hard to KO.

your ability to take a punch in general is directly correlated to your preparation/overall physical well-being. Gaele was almost dead when he walked into the ring, the 24 pound rehydration, despite seemingly an advantage, took an enormous toll on his body.

As for the ability to take a punch on the chin, that is pure genetics and Cotto did land a gorgeous hook.

Why is nobody else running through these "bums"? The way that GGG has been destroying these guys is exceptional and until Cotto beat Geale who I don't regard as a bum and is a former world champ, no other fighter had destroyed even one of those guys the way that GGG did. Who has destroyed Murray, Macklin, Rubio, and Monroe?

Ok, I stand corrected but Mundine wasn't able to run through him and make him quit like GGG & Cotto just did. Geale went on to win a wide UD.

Right but Geale wasn't drained for the GGG fight. He just got run through like a knife through butter which is exactly what Cotto did last night. Cotto and GGG are hitting with about the same amount of power and that makes zero sense. Cotto started his career at 140 and this is his 4th division. He is 34 years old and is facing bigger opponents than ever and hitting harder than ever! This isn't normal. GGG fought at 165 in the amateurs and has been a pro at 160 for his whole career. It makes sense that he is hitting the way he is. For Cotto to be on par with him power-wise makes no sense. Either Roach is the greatest technical boxing trainer who ever lived or something fishy is going on. In this era, absolutely nothing would surprise me. I believe that literally 80-90% of the elite boxers are on something.

He could always punch, but NOT LIKE THIS! He looks like a mini Mike Tyson now.

Ha ha. I was at that fight. It was shocking to see Guerrero go down like that. He was 20 seconds away from being knocked out. He was very lucky that it happened right at the end of the round. He was fighting so stupidly the first half. He should have been fighting on the outside and using his footwork like he started doing later in the fight. Still, he got up and went on to win the fight. It took Martinez a series of punches and for Guerrero to be standing right in front of him with no regard for his power and no respect for his skills for it to happen.

Great question. He's probably roided to the max, most 34 year olds don't have Roidquez backne.
