How is Fury the "lineal champ" when he's a proven drug cheat?

It's AJ fans who are obsessing over the lineal championship.

While it's held by an inactive, out-of-shape Tyson Fury, it's not really of concern.

But suddenly it's about to go on the line against AJ's greatest rival in a fight that will cast a dark shadow over AJ's alphabet title reign.

The AJ fans realise that with the lineal championship & WBC belt in tow, the winner will be recognised by a significant portion of the boxing community as the one true ruler of the heavyweight division.

    The legitimate heavyweight champion.

    The big bow-wow.

I'm just not seeing how a fighter can fail drug tests, retire and yet still have any claim on that.

I mean come on.. Failed drug tests ffs, retires and yet none of that seems to matter.

Also go and have a look at the threads made about this subject, its Fury and Wilder fans that are making them.

I see it the other way around, it's those fans that's are thinking there is only one title on the line, AJ Vs Povetkin will most likely be bigger and they are actually trying to make this fight more important and bigger than it actually is.

That’s a recreational drug which has no positive qualities for a sportsman.

Oh yeah I'm not disputing that he still is/holds that acclaim, but what I am disputing is that he still deserves to and that he goes around mentioning it. I'd be saying that I know I have it all to prove again now and will, if I were in his shoes.

Still back the big man though, hope he does prove himself again

Set aside for a second your views on whether UKAD messed up etc. Do you think he and Hughie took nandrolone?

It's very simple. Fury is good for business, so all of the details you mentioned above can easily be overlooked. The Olympics in the past and even now regularly ignores positive test when it involves athletes that consistently bring in money.

Yeah me too. So to me that's cheating and I don't like cheats in any sport, but especially boxing. I know all the arguments and don't want to go over em again, but that's how I feel.

What I think he and his legal team did after that was very smart, but as reprehensible in its way as the initial offence. The delay from ukad for instance was in part due to legal manoevre ring behind the scenes and the use of potential earnings from mega fights to cowe the cash strapped agency charged with keeping uk sport fair.

So although I like fury I don't like what he did, don't like his failure to front up and admit what he did and when he comes out with crap about defending the honour of uk boxing I find myself wanting to vomit. He's full of it. That's where I'm at on this.

No of course there wasn't. The final statement was written by lawyers. Do you think for one second it would provide anything that could result in further costs being incurred? The manoeuvring took place, but generally in closed chambers.

I agree with you on the fact that we've all been watching doping athletes and many of the 'heroes' that have been celebrated on tv were in it up to their necks. That's why I'd have cheered him on if he'd fronted up and that's why I found his Im the victim here defence that I found hard to stomach, particularly from a professional fighter.

Since when in the history of boxing can a lineal be stripped for drugs?

It’s very simple: people on this board (UK people) do not want to see Wilder become the number 1 ranked heavyweight and lineal champ. Fury is therefore being systematically discredited.
