I'm not sure as I don't know Ishida that well, but I have watched his fight with GGG.

How significant was it? I'm reading that Ishida went 12 rounds against Pirog and Paul Williams but I know he was almost dang near killed by GGG in 3 rounds.

I know some of you rate Pirog very highly on this boxing forum, so how is GGG's performance against Ishida viewed?

Ishida's biggest success is ending HBO hypejob Kirkland, so that counts as something I guess

Ishida is the living proof that GGG can KO heavyweights

I rate the way it ended very highly since Ishida had a pretty impressive chin. but the win itself wasn't all that impressive Ishida isn't hard to outbox.

Was GGG the first guy to knock him out?

Ishida had a very good chin and the fact GGG knocked him out easy says a lot.

How good was Pirog that Ishida lasted with him? I've heard people say Pirog would've beat GGG.

Skill wise he was brilliant and would have posed a lot of problems for GGG but he wasn't incredibly heavy handed but he had enough pop to take out Danny Jacobs by KO.

It's not even among GGG's top 5 wins, none of which are particularly noteworthy to begin with.

So how is it viewed? As nothing significant, as it should be.

The Jacobs KO and Ishida KO both were via stepping into overhand rights, not coincidentally. "Pitcher's Punch" :bbb
