GGG's got a big build because he's quite muscular, I'm not sure he can put much more on without detriment though so esentially he'd be the same size at SMW, it's not like a skinny guy with a big frame moving up by adding some bulk if you know what I mean (e.g. Walters)? He's just not naturally a SMW.

I think you could make an argument but right now with Ward's inactivity and whatnot, I'm not sure if that win would be held in that high regard.

You think Canelo would drop his marketing machismo and drop a belt to avoid a showdown with another PPV fighter?

And I'm not GGG's biggest fan, I'm just rational and know something about how and why fights are made and look at both sides of the equation.

Ward didnt respond, plus Ward wanted none of GGG back before his hiatus when Ward was also a legit draw. K2 did in fact greenlight the fight with HBO, Ward said no. Ergo, placing blame on GGG for the fight not being made now is irrational until and unless some evidence surfaces that Ward does indeed actually want the fight and is willing to make it under reasonable terms and not price himself out.

Out of the two camps, one camp has actually greenlit the fight. And yes, back then it was at 168.

Fair point, but what I was trying to say is people clearly do want to see Ward if he pulls numbers against no namers like Rodriguez. La bomba is a tough opponent but he's just not known.

Chalk and cheese though. Golovkin is willing to go to 168 for a well paid fight, as demonstrated by the Froch offer and Chavez Jr, just not Ward.
Broner wasn't jumping to face an elite fighter like Manny or Floyd (like Ward is). He jumped to face a beatable and limited fighter

Rodriguez fight was nearly 2 years ago, at that point Ward's name still held most of it's luster.

Well he was coming off of stopping the Light Heavyweight Champ for the first time in his career and beating Froch, we have a very short attention span in this country and when you're out of sight for too long you go out of mind. he squandered any kind of good will he had by getting caught up in the legal battle with Goosen and disappearing for a year and a half.

I can see it, are Canelo/Cotto fighting at the full 160? If not, than Canelo wont fight GGG at the full 160, I haev Canelo beating GGG frmo 155-157 anyways so.
Yes you are, you constantly defend him, I haven't seen you criticize the guy once , you try to make it out like you're trying to educate people but what you'Re doing is making excuses, and trying to make your favorite boxer not look like he clearly does not want to fight ward.
Ward laughed at the 164, and non-rational ****sucking fans like you say OH GGG USED TO TO NEGOTIATE, LOL no what he did was say F U i dont want the fight. If you want to negotiate you low ball, you dont **** your opposition off by acting like you're not serious.

And GGG never offered a fight with Ward before his hiatus, send me the link, i've seen some GGG ****s like you claim this, it was Ward whow as calling GGG out, and GGG's team and GGG himself repeatedley saying he wasn't ready, this was around the end of 2013.

Except Broner was 23 and GGG is 33 :lol:. And GGG has absolutely no one on his resume.

He took a break over a year before rodriguez though, so what makes you say that? if he fought on hbo or signed wiht Haymon he'd still get big numbers, of course fighting on a network that's not known for having fights won't get you big numbers.

Yup, but he's fighting four times a year and he's technically adept enough to have a pretty long career.

I'll wait until he retires before I put him on a pedestal or not.

Yearly breaks happen all the time, however, 2 years? And it's really been nearly 3 years since he's done something actually relevent, his "hugely awaited" return managed to draw 300k viewers.

I wonder why DOESN'T he fight on HBO? Why don't they put him on? They seemingly have good relations with him, I'm not sure how these TV deals work, is he signed with BET?

It hasn't been 2 years, and it was more than a year his break. He just signed a huge contract with Rocnation, they might be trying to branch out like PBC. Trust me Ward could have easily signed with Haymon and fought on showtime but there was obviously more money for him going with a newer promotional company in rocnation.

Yeah a year layoff is not uncommon but when a year layoff is again followed by a year and half layoff its gets repetitive and frustrating to viewers and they cease to have a reason to care, that perception develops of "if he doesn't care why should we" most casual fans don't know why he's not on they just know he's not on and the stop giving a damn eventually.
