    HBO wouldn't approve Smith as an opponent so they passed on the match.

    Nah I dont buy it, if he fought on HBO/Showtime he'd still pull 1mill+ if it was against a decent opponent. The same people who watched Ward 2years ago, know who Ward is, and if they enjoyed watching him before will watch it again. Of course new boxing from 2014+ probably have no clue who he is and Ward might not get theose viewers.

    Because he fought on BET because of his new contract you moron :lol::lol:. Rocnation is trying to branch out, they obviously have deals with BET. Ward could ahve signed with Haymon for less, and pulled 1 million views on Showtime, but obviously he rather get that money right?

    :lol::lol:

    Ward did not call GGG out until he was wrapped in his legal dispute, which is why liars and phonies like you dont get any credibility and have to resort to name calling. :conf

    Oh, and if you want to Google yourself you can find where HBO execs have said that ya K2 greenlit Ward.

    But even more to the point there is this, where GGG himself spoke up on the issue. Ward has been..... completely silent since, yes?

    Find an instance of Ward calling out GGG before he went back into litigation please. Because it sure looked to everyone but the die hard irrational haters that Ward was just talking about a potential fight to keep his name in the news while he wasnt fighting.

    The Smith fight was so bad and so insignificant, for all intents and purposes he's still on break lol. :lol:

    Most fans here didn't even watch it.

    Ward still got paid 2mil though. People talk like its a good thing, and hey - good for Ward to get paid that for fighting Smith. No hate for making money, but it does make you seriously wonder how much he is demanding for the likes of GGG and Kovalev if he is getting paid 2mil for the Smiths and E-rods.

    You also have to consider that in the lead up to the Ward-Rodriguez match HBO were on a roll putting on top card every weekend for awhile, Cotto-Rodriguez, Alvarado-Provodnikov, Marquez-Bradley, GGG-Stevens, Wlad-Povetkin, Garcia-Martinez so there was a lot of momentum from HBO at the time and Boxing fans had gotten into the rhythm of tuning in week after week.

    However you put it no matter what excuses you bring up Ward still pulled big numbers after a long hiatus. If Ward fought on showtime or HBO against a groves/degale he'd easily pull over 1 mill.

    Haha, you're telling me BET and HBO came up to Ward and Rocnation and said, "Hey, let me broadcast your next fight," and Rocnation turned down HBO because they want to "branch out" to BET? Absolutely not. They would've chosen HBO, but HBO didn't want Ward/Smith in the first place.

    Geez, you Ward fans will do anything to make his failure to draw views sound better than it is. Heck, even Ward realizes his situation better than you fans and knows to call Golovkin's name out every now and then so he can at least get some interest by riding off GGG's coattails.
