Kessler will wait for Calzaghe to leave himself open (which won't take long) and he'll try and land his right hand on him. As with most southpaws, the lead right over the jab is the answer. I think we saw with Andrade that Kessler answers pressure very well. Of course Calzaghe is much faster than Andrade, but he still misses enough to matter and he also leaves himself wide open to right hands when he is attacking. I'll make an official pick before november, but as of now I'm still unsure.
Well, they say a str8 punch beats a wide punch...Kessler has a good str8 right hand in which Calzaghe can get tagged with. If Kessler keeps his composure when calslaps starts to barrage-a-slap and time that right hand he has he can do some good counter work. He my just beat him up coming str8 up the middle with his shots. Or Calzaghe uses his above average footwork to get inside and slap him into submission. Either way I dont give a **** b/c neither of them can **** with Dawson.
Assuming I'm not getting this lost in translation, and your "spoil" translates to American English "scrap", I think this is a great point. Kessler has to be willing to make this fight ugly at points. He doesn't ever have to give up on landing clean counters, but he's got to remind Joe that he's in a fight. I think people are underestimating just what an advantage, once again, fighting in Wales is going to be for Joe. If Kessler is too patient and allows Joe to get into that whirling dervish slapfest mode, he's going to find himself so far behind on points that the occasional clean shot he does land won't be nearly enough. And as many of you have already pointed out, he needs to catch Joe with something coming in. Calzaghe has plenty of chin to ride with the punches he knows are coming. I'm looking at tape before making a final pick, but right now I like Calzaghe to tapdance out a clear decision.
Kessler and his fans are going to look stupid if he loses. He may well win but the claims that are being made are totally unfounded. Does Kessler really believe that he is bringing something completely new to the table? He is a damn good fighter but he's nothing more, nothing less. Maybe it will be him who's in for a shock.
He would have to catch Joe with straight right hands when Joe is dashing in and when he's dashing out.
