My bad - missed the US-fights ... still doesn't change the other things. Especially hiding behind the WBO-title did him no good - not coming back from his loss didn't do anything for him either. And he had this "I really want to see him lose" about him - Kessler is just more likeable :)

One of the things that makes fighters are how they come back - Look at Lewis - he got decked twice and came back with a ventange ... Hamed got beat and ran.

But to answer the question origional asked - Kessler doesn't get more credit than Hamed - but he does get more attention - the reason is proberbly that Hamed is long retired - Kessler isn't, so it's only natural that he is more on the board than retired Hamed. I've never seen the two compared - would also be a bit strange as they are so different in weightclasses and a p4p comparison is not relevant yet - as Kessler p4p ranking is still in question.

Hamed was out classed by MAB.

Kessler held his own for a while against JC.

Hamed RAN AWAY, Kessler is still fighting.

    :good

Hamed is one of the most talented and gifted fighters for the past 15 years or so. Kesslers natural ability is indeed good enough to potentially earn him a HOF spot and a p4p top 5 position. But Hamed was just from another world at that weight and he had reflexes, power, speed in wicked amounts.

Kessler is a bit more ordinary, but still A level.

    Hamed was not ****.
He was just an overhyped fighter.
    Kessler is the real deal.

yeah and I seem to remember him dropping every belt but the one where he (and Warren) got to handpick the opponents ... those mandatory are such a pain in the *ss :)

He was a champ amongst others ... Morales, Norwood and Barrera for instanse ... Hamed was a very good fighter and a legit champ - but some way from superhuman... I'm not trying to put the man down - just trying to explain why he isn't counted amongst the biggest stars.

(and he never actually held the WBA-belt)

Nas had a good chin he was knocked down a lot due to the way he threw punches from akward angles and they way he would dip and lean to avoid punches he would sometimes be off balanced.

real display of boxing knowledge there ... Andrade was caught pulling his head way back - couldn't be pulled any longer back when Mack hit him. It was the first time ever Andrade have been down in both amateur, pro and sparring... furthermore Mack caught him with much harder punches later on in the fight without even making Andrade blink.

By your logic Miranda is featherfisted - he couldn't even drop Sam Reese in 10 rounds ... Reese was stopped in 1 by Whitaker...

But yes Kessler is no Tyson - but he carries good power and is far from featherfisted.
