Pacquiao ravaged Barrera in their first fight with short hooks to the bod. Body shots also turned the tide in the 2nd fight with Morales, especially a right hook to the body late in round 6, and he hurt Morales with a left hand to Morales's body in round 1 of their first fight. It was a quick right hook in round 3 of the 3rd fight that led to the first KD of the round against Morales. Pacquiao took out 3k Battery with uppercuts. It was a right hook that did most of the damage against Velasquez.
Forgetting the belts for a moment because in this scenario, they dont mean jack as the only reason JMM has it is because he got to fight MAB 3months before Pac. Pac has beaten more top fighters at 130 than JMM has, he has beaten 2 contenders and Larios + 2 former champions just a few months after they lost the championship. JMM holds the belt but thats about it. Right now there is no "man" at 130, the upcoming fight between Pac-JMM would be a good case for the man at 130 but even then, guys like Guzman arguably has a case beating both Barios & Soto. As for the OP: This guy has gone up 6 weight divisions, won a title starting from 112. Has 2 lineal belts, 3 weight division champ going for his 4th, destroyed Barrera when he was still on top, draw with current p4p #3, destroyed and be the first man to KO Morales, twice. Beat 2 former champs at 130, had he fought MAB before JMM he would be champ now but that doesnt make him any better fighter, you gotta look beyond the paper and learn to analyse the situation. You dont need to hold a belt around your waist for people to realise your champion material. As for El Maestro, thats funny coming from a PBF fan. PBF beat a retired ODLH who was beaten by Hopkins and STURM already. Before that he beats Judah who Kostya KTFO in 2rounds and Cotto simply brutalised. He beats Baldomir by running all night despite the guy having 9 losses on his record. He beat grandad Shamba Mitchell. Beat an overrated Ricky Hatton whom according to ESB fans is clearly not elite, especially at 147. Wow easy to spin things when we play that game... Fact of the matter is, Pac beat MAB twice, 1st when MAB was top of his game, beat Morales and Morales was beaten by Raheem at "135" so that doesnt say much about his fights at 130, not to mention Morales didnt train half as hard for Raheem as he did against Pac. And he drew with current p4p #3, on top of that he is on his 6th division gunning for his 4th title. Hate on that and spin it any way you want but you know the truth.
He isnt the man at 130 its clearly Marquez and heres why. Morales beat Hernendaz and Chavez at 130 in 2004 to gain 2 world title bouts he was the top dog at 130 then lost to Barrera at 130 who then become the top guy for 2 and half years but people seem to think because Pac beat Barrera at 126 then Morales beat Pac at 130 then Pac beat him twice that makes him the man at 130 but it doesnt. Its Marquez cause he beat Barrera.
Damn its less than a month since you joined and you're already nearing 500 bad posts. Keep it going we'll give you a belt at 1,000
He's fighting the best fighter in the division in his next fight. One that holds a belt. What do you want him to do? Go watch Wlad and Ibragimov play patty cake for 12 rounds?
You need to proceed directly to timeout and reconsider your opinions on boxing. This post is so far off-base it's insane. Whatever points I agree with -- such as Pac's chances at moving up in weight successfully -- are completely undone by your assertion that he lacks hooks and uppercuts. That's ignorant, and you should know better. Just Youtube his fights and you'll see. Also, as others have pointed out, you put way too much stock in belts. These belts are rewarded and stripped for political reasons, and they have been proved over many years to be arbitrary and corrupt. The Pac/Marquez fight determines who is the man at 130, and that's all there is to it.
But thats my point. Pac beat MAB 3months after JMM beat MAB at 130. Wether Pac holds the belts or not is irrelevant. Both JMM & Pac has proven that they can both beat "the man" at 130 which was MAB so where does that leave us? It leaves us with a stalemate and this fight will settle who is the man. On paper sure whatever, but analyse the situation and you will see that apart from the timing, nothing separates the 2 in terms of claims for being the man at 130.
Well certainly he is not recognized at the champ because he doesn't have a world title at the moment. Let's be clear on that. Why is he the man? Because he is the "money man" at the division. He brings in excitement that people wanted to see in a fight . . . therefore they follow his fights and are willing to spend money for it. Talking about his flaws and his opponents won't help you're intention to pull the guys leg down. Wait for March 15 . . . then maybe you'll see why he is the man. :yep
i still find it funny as how some one can say pac is overated but not think JMM is aswell. by your own account, pac has faced stiffer compitition then JMM has but JMM has a classic skill technician in him. i dont get how bringing in MAB adds to the argument its shaky at best. Mab was on the down hill arguebly before or after Pac/Mab 1. The only thing that ties these fighters was the well deserved draw in my opinion. yes i beleive the draw was a good outcome since you can argue both sides of the fence. this fight hopfully will be a good one becuase your bring two sides of the coin into the ring a boxer and a bruiser come march 15 one will be the top dog. be it a JMM UD or Pac TKO
For me mate . . . MAB and Morales being on the downhill isn't really a factor . . . that's a lame arguement. That is how it goes in this sports . . . there will always be a changing of the guard at any division at a certain point and time . . . the fact is . . . both MAB and Morales are way up in the P4P list before they fought Pac. Another fact is . . . JMM entered the top 10 P4P list only after he fought and drawed with the Pacman.
