    :good

I think Manny not being a true pressure fighter, and some of his footwork issues with cutting off the ring, will allow this to happen easier for Floyd. I think Manny will be all too willing to engage in the center of the ring.

He'll be frustrated by Floyd clinching as well, just IMO.

What will give Mayweather a hard time is Pacquiao's foot speed. At least from a high guard. Everything I noted Mayweather can execute. But Pacquiao can also counter it. He's fast enough and mobile enough to make it tough for Mayweather to let his hands go. It maybe a thing where both fighters are jockeying for position early in the fight until one gets their rhythm.

Mayweather isn't exactly slow of foot himself, and his footwork/fundamentals are excellent. I feel Manny wastes a lot of energy and movement. Those little juke steps, side steps, etc... work great against less dynamic opponents. Guys like Floyd? Not so much. JMM with his great fundamentals also showed how to negate Manny's foot speed advantage. And I don't think anybody would claim JMM is as fast as Mayweather in regard to foot or hand speed.

Timing and fundamentals will neutralize speed. Something I feel Manny will find out May 2nd.

I agree but sofar that's the only way Mayweather seems to fight southpaws is by outjabbing them

Mayweather relies on timing, not speed. He is not particularly quick on his feet but he places his feet where he needs to put them. Can his precise footwork keep up with Pacquiao's jerky unorthodox footwork? That will be the question. Marquez had to take his lumps to get his counters to work. And throw combinations with feints in a hurry. Mayweather is going to have to step up his quantity and try to maintain precision or risk getting overwhelmed

This is a point I'm trying to make. Clottey and Mayweather are two different fighters in regards to their style. But both fight conservatively on top of having a high guard defense which Mayweather employs against leftys

Pac isn't a flat footed fighter. He jumps in and out. Straight left, right hand. No PEDS no wins!

I would expect to see Floyd to fight from a distance, in an effort to negate Pacs hand-speed/ foot speed, and pacs unusual rhythm.

Is there any other southpaw on Floyds resume who isn't afraid to get hit and let their hands go?

If Pac is to win this fight, he has to back Floyd up and grind him down. Thats pretty obvious, but doing it against a focused well drilled opponent such as Floyd, means pac will have to be as good a boxer as he is a pressure fighter.

I think Floyd will make this look like his fight with JMM.....too easy.

Styles make fights what they are etc, and this is no exception. Its a classic boxer against a fighter i think:think

Thanks for the detailed breakdown

Neither fighter the same as they were 5 yrs ago. In their primes, I’d take FMJ all day long. This one is no easy task but I feel that Mayweather with the loss of his lightning quick reflexes and the fact he never had great power gives Pac an excellent chance here. May took a lot of shots in his fights with RG and MM. The fight with MM was still up for grabs going into rd 11. We’re talking Maidana here and not exactly Duran. Maidana was right in front of May to hit. Pac will be a much more elusive target, faster, and harder puncher. May is ready to be taken. Pac by 12 rd dec.

May’s main punches will be lead rts, the jab and hooks to the body. He will get his shots off and have success but I feel Pac will land the more telling crowd pleasing shots.
