Apparently this fight which is on the undercard of Golota vs. Austin is an eliminator for the WBC heavyweight title! How can this be an eliminator for the WBC title? McCline is ranked 21st and Mollo is ranked 36th, how can this be any kind of a eliminator for the heavyweight title? The winner might be in line for a top 15 spot at the most but anything else is just crazy? atschatschatsch I don't get it, does anyone get this?
Heard this rumour, and I hope it's nonsense. McCline has become the king of blowing it in title fights, while Mollo just got ten bells beaten out of him by Golota. Regardless of who wins this fight, neither would I consider a worthy WBC #1 contender at this moment in time.
Yeah it is not for number one since gomez is ranked and has been approved as the number 1 contender by the wbc.
As you can see from the WBC convention articles, the WBC has a thing for second eliminators. a mccline-mollo eliminator is very disturbing though. i'm sure you can thank don king for that.
Mike mollo if he was trained properly would be a beast. He isn't the biggest guy, but he's got a great chin and a terrific amount of natural talent. When i saw him bash mcbride, i thought he was the reincarnation of rocky marciano; if he had the rocks dedication im sure that man would make it!
I hope you are correct... Even if this is the case, I don't see how anyone can explain why any of these two guys would in any way be deserving of the no. 2 spot! God bless the king... Don King that is!!!
