What has he done to prove that he's a shot fighter? ... Yeah he lost to Tarver and Johnson but those guys are beasts and would give anyone a hard time. I never thought that 2 losses would be proof that a fighter is shot ... It doesn't matter ... if they were knockouts or not ... thats only 2 losses and he only lost 3 official fights total out of 50 something fights. How has he shown that he has lost it? ... he's fought 36 straight rounds against some good guys ... and he won ... he hasn't shown a decline in speed, nor has he shown deminished reflexes ... I don't think that some of you guys know the definition of a shot fighter. So if you can - explain to me how Roy Jones is a shot fighter ...
he is shot.. because a PRIME RJJ would had never be touched clean and flush by Tarver and Johnson and would had school them
the legs, it's all in the legs. well what's not in them to be more precise. that and his stamina is truely woeful these days.
Most obvious signs are his legs. He stands flat footed with that Winky style high guard. In his prime, his foot speed allowed him to dart in and out of spots like a rabbit. His reflexes is the other big sign that he's shot. But he's still got the blazing hand speed he can fall back on.
That aint true ... RJJ would had a tough time against those guys. Johnson is a pressure fighter who doesn't let you get any room to breathe or let you get off into a rhythm. Tarver is very long - very awkward - and has power in left hand. So to say that he wouldn't have been touched would be false because those guys are very tough. Thats still doesn't explain how he supposidly is shot --
Let's see; he's gotten brutally knocked out twice, his speed, power, and reflexes are diminished, he struggled against Hanshaw, and he went 12 rounds with completely shot, inactive, chinny Tito who was coming off of a 2+ year layoff. Roy said himself that he should retire if he couldn't finish Tito within 4. Peak, or even close to peak Roy, would've stopped him within 6. Shot Roy goes 12 rounds.
Watch Roy Jones of 10 years ago, and compare. If you can't see the difference, I don't know whats up with you.
Finally a legit explination ... you can't judge a fighter being shot simply because he lost a fight. That doesn't show any knowledge in the sport and it doesn't explain **** but that he lost. For real Klion22 great post !! :good
Why did you actually need an explanation? It's blatantly obviously if you watch RJJ now that his reflexes, stamina and punch resistance have dimished and he's losing fights and struggling against fighters he would of smashed in his prime.
That's exactly the point isn't it? Compared to the high standards he's set, he looks damn near shot. He doesn't have to look as bad as a mere mortal when shot, because Roy Jones is such a talent. He is definitely shot though. Well well past it at the least.
Roy Jones isn't shot ... no one can prove that to me ... So Barrera was shot when he lost 2wice to Junior Jones?
