His legs are a sad shadow of what they once were. He spends more time on the ropes trying to peak-a-boo his way through assaults because his energy level doesn't allow him to use his incredible defensive abilities that required huge athleticism. Where he could go all out with defensive tactics like bending deep in the waist, shifting into deep knee bends, and using his midsection to do acrobatic gyrations are all but gone. The man had an athleticism that was simply a marvel to watch. He could punch from frigging angles no one could. To compound what I only scratch the surface on is the mental aspect. His passion disappeared long ago. When he started to spend more time on his jumpshot with the Palmetto Sundogs and plying his vocal stylings in recording sessions I knew he was bored with the game. He even said himself. He achieved everything. All the way to winning a heavyweight fight. The Roy Jones you see today is not the Roy Jones of old. And to some degree in everyway he's worse.
no disrespect man, but you are either not very knowledgeable in boxing, or you are 18 years old :huh Jones has fought Plenty of fighters that are pressure fighters in the past, and has knocked them out silly easily. ditto with tall southpaws. In his prime, he couldn't be touched.
Get out of here! Both those guys got spanked by B-Hop, but they should have given Roy a hard time in his prime?? :rofl
