The loss to Vitali must have a huge impact on Sam Peter. If we compare these two loses to Klitchkos.

    Wladimir:

    1) Wladimir was in his prime
    2) Wladimir is concidered the better, more talented of the brothers
    3) He lost soundily but managed to knock Wladimir down 3 times
    4) Could blame that loss on bad referee, Wladimir holding.
    5) First loss can blame on lack of experience

    Vitali:

    1) Vitali was past his prime, at an advanced age of 37 returning to the ring after a long break and bad injuries
    2) Vitali absolutely destroyed him and made him quit. He gave him a boxing lesson and didnt break a sweat.
    3) Peter was in his prime, experienced and defended his title already, WBC champ
    4) Already lost to one Klitchko

How is he going to come back after this? Can he do it? How is he going to be able to say "I'm the best heavyweight in the division" even if he wins the title lets say from Valuev.

Peter's ego was overinflated in the first place. He is an excellent fighter when he goes up against people not in the top 10. Aside from that, he is soup. An overweight and out-of-his-prime Toney did well against him. IMO Toney in his prime would have easily out boxed him.

I would like to see Peter fight Chris Arreola. Both lack skills but both can punch. Arreola is exciting too and his chin has never been tested.

Still has a chance, not sure if he will go far after this one but with the division being the way it is he can still win a few more fights and make decent money. The current champions he lost to two with Valuev being the only one there if King will give him a shot to fight for it in the future, a rematch with Wladimir or Vitali will be a silly move and he knows it.

I think this loss will help him. He needs to get in better shape and he knows it now. And get a new trainer, no doubt.

his big headedness got to him. didn't sweet pea say he was gonna be a trainer? sweet pea would be the perfect trainer for peter to get off his fat ass and learn how to bob and weave. my God, i've seen amateurs do better than that. does anybody know how much peter earned? at least swing for the fences, kick him in the gonads, headbutt, anything. he'd throw like 2-3 right hands per round. he took his ass whippin like a man, but he sure didn't fight like one

I don't think he's very strong mentally and this is the first time that he's been forced to acknowledge that someone is better than him. He really has nowhere to go in his career. He can try to get himself back into title contention but he'll never beat a Klitschko.

Peter will make up some sort of excuse in his mind. He'll fight on.

The problem is that now, Peter won't get any fights. A win over Peter is meaningless, he's "a quitter" now, and he was never all that good to begin with.
Why would a fighter want to fight him? Beating Sam Peter will not give much credit; and, since Peter still does have power, there is a chance of losing to this "unskilled quitter". Any good manager would have his fighters avoid Peter like the plague.
Sanctioning bodies know that people won't want to see this guy get another shot. It's going to be a difficult battle to get back into title contention. I think that Peter fights a few bums than retires only to try an unsuccessful come back later in his career, he's slow and lacks skill now, an old Peter gets hurt bad.

  11. He's gonna have to lose some weight and get a better trainer, and stay away from tall fighters he was almost stopped by Mccline and beat by both of the K bros, all real tall guy's but do more cardio work and change your diet, he ran out of gas to quick in that fight and looked real sluggish..

The Klits knocked over a 100 IQ points off him, so look for him to be even dumber.

Well, I see Sam Peter as a limited guy who really is NOT a boxing or training buff who has a desire to remain in the BIDNESS! Plus, S.P. has already been paid more money than his skills deserve... As long as he has a roof over his head and a freezer full of steaks, he'll make an exit from boxing pretty soon... I don't get the feeling that Sam Peter likes to fight....:blood
