The guy he offers the fight to can always say; "No, it's not enough time, I don't want the fight." It's a free country.

 

Everyone has known for several weeks that Berto will be the opponent. Berto has been in training and preparing to fight on September 12th. I find it intriguing that people say that Berto is a horrible opponent that doesn't stand a chance but then you also have some people trying to claim that Mayweather is trying to gain an unfair advantage by giving Berto late notice. In reality, whoever the opponent will be, Mayweather's camp has been in contact with them for a while. So if you're people are telling you that you could get the Mayweather fight in September, then you need to train as though you are definitely fighting in September. You only have yourself to blame if you don't.
