There should be a no whining clause on this forum cause it puts me in the mind of a room full of babies and all of them are crying with all their little might.:-(
If Berto/Khan havent been training their asses off throughout the last month or so, in the chance that they get a shot, then they must be morons.
Do you really think that boxers just wait around for a fight by not training...??? The vast majority of boxers are in the gym pretty much 5 days a week training whether they have a fight lined up or not...!!! hence, boxers taking fights on short notice. Granted the training may not be a full or competant training camp, but if they are veterans like Berto, they understand the risk of not utilizing training for fights they may take in the foreseeable future...!!!
All they have to do is decline and say "I don't have enough time to prepare." If you spend your training camp goofing around and try to catch up last minute you might tear a shoulder or something.
Not shocking at all that most people missed the main point. It's unprofessional and Floyd should be better than that, especially for his "last" fight and considering it is a sh*t opponent. And to all you saying that the fighter can always say no, STFU and quit being stupid. There are no guarantees or pensions in boxing. You know damn well that any C level fighter would take a Floyd fight on one days notice. Of course, defending this late notice tactic is coming from the same idiots that are ok with Berto as an opponent, so there you go. Yeah yeah, I know the canned resonse 118-110, ko6, Algieri, Rios, etc. because I'm such a huge pac fan, right?
Is it really a tactic though if his has known for weeks that he would get the fight? Or is there some sort of rule that says the B side is now allows to train until the fight is official?
It is IMO. He isn't giving Khan a fight because "he talked too much"...yet for THAT VERY SAME REASON, he chose to come out of retirement to fight Ricky Hatton. Floyd is a diva and Berto knows he can change his mind at the drop of a hat. Keep in mind Floyd knows full well who he is fighting.
I honestly don't know what he's doing. I think he's told his actual opponent he'll fight him and to train but not tell news people. I honestly think it'll be Brook or Bradley, he knows they'll make him a lot more money than Berto and are still easily winnable fights.
But Berto has been in training for weeks. His personal chef came out and was talking about she has him on a warrior diet. All signs have pointed to Berto being the opponent, and it's been that way for weeks. I really don't understand how he's at a disadvantage preparation wise
Mayweather should fight GGG People say he don't need to. But to call yourself the best ever you gotta take these challenges. Hopkins called it and done it. And if you look back on the past greats they did it too. Like Armstrong, Greb, Robinson, Tunney etc. You gotta put your neck on the line. I don't have much interest seeing Floyd outpoint Khan or Brook or Thurman.
I think berth already knows he's getting the May fight...he probably knew weeks ago....he will be ready because he will have probably started camp weeks ago
