Canelo Alvarez's Resume This content is protected - Highly debatable win, that at best was a draw, many scored in GGG's favor. Viewed as gift. This content is protected - A draw that should be a loss, almost everyone but fanboys saw this as a GGG win. Liam Smith - Not P4P material, best 2 debatable wins were over Liam Williams and since has lost to Munguia. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. - Completely spent force by the time they fought, should have lost to Vera, he was DONE. Amir Khan - 2 KO losses, 1 points loss, down countless times, arguably got gift against Algieri, former LW. Miguel Cotto - His MW run a carefully crafted mirage, had been done for years, lost to Ali post-Canelo. James Kirkland - Coming off year long layoff, had to drop 50 pounds, was brutally KO'd by Ishida, glass jaw. This content is protected - At best the match was a draw, at worst, a 115-113/116-112 type loss. Another sketchy Canelo win. Alfredo Angulo - Fainted in bathroom, Virgil caught him, should have been called off, was a dead man walking. This content is protected - This is a wide points loss, it could be argued a shutout, Guerrero & Maidana did better. This content is protected - Debatable win, a very legit argument could be made Trout beat him 7-5, KD point was irrelevant. Josesito Lopez - Last minute replacement, natural Light Welterweight, went on to be violently KO'd by Maidana. Shane Mosley - In name only, the only Sugar Shane that mattered was long gone, no good wins post fight. Kermit Cintron - Not great in prime, but did have win over another Canelo win, Angulo, partially retired shell. * This content is protected are debated wins and a loss. If you take out the controversial wins and loss against Mayweather, GGG, GGG, Lara and Trout, then who does that leave? A laundry list of really big "names", primarily because they have fought on American and UK television for years, however most of them were shot shells of their former selves, and their glory days were long since gone. The rest are guys fighting above their divisions, or drained down weakened versions of bigger guys. That list includes Chavez Jr, Angulo, Khan, Lopez, Cotto, Mosley, Cintron, Gomez, Rhodes, Cintron and Hatton. That leaves.... Liam Smith as his best in prime, without controversy fresh fighter. Fine, throw in Cotto and Khan, two guys who've been obliterated who were also past their sell by dates, and naturally far smaller fighters. But okay, whatever, give him credit. Oleksandr Usyk's Resume Tony Bellew - Amazing resume a LHW & CW/HW, coming off of amazing run at CW, Usyk destroyed him. Murat Gassiev - Was an undefeated GGG KO machine beast, w/wins over Dorticos & still decent Diablo & Lebedev. Mairis Briedis - Wins over Perez, Huck, Charr, Durodola, one of the most technically sound CW's and undefeated. Marco Huck - Longtime division kingpin, had recently lost to KG & MB, both kind of competitive, Usyk domination. Michael Hunter - Undefeated fighter, since gone on to destroy Kiladze better than Kownacki, and wreck Bakole. Thabiso Mchunu - Brilliant southpaw with shutout wins over Chambers & Durodola, and FOTY loss against Makabu. Krzysztof Glowacki - Ended reign of Huck in war, + over USS Cunningham, Vlasov, Askin, Glowa is a monster. These all have an asterisk, they're sans headgear WSB matches, but one day may be added to his professional record. Not including them, but they're worth noting. Joe Joyce - WSB, pre-pro, but since then, Joyce won Silver, and has been a HW wrecking machine. Mihai Nistor - The man who KO'd Anthony Joshua, WSB, pre-pro, but still very noteworthy. Magomedrasul Medzhidov - HW monster with wins over Joshua, Dychko, an absolute destroyer, Usyk shut him out. Briedis, Gassiev & Glowacki were all highly skilled undefeated, top of their division fighters, and the Cruiserweight equivalent to Spence, Saunders, Thurman, the Charlo's, Hurd, Andrade, Zurdo Ramirez, Callum Smith. Very impressive P4P wins. Hunter was an undefeated but unproven talent, who's since moved to HW and has been on a rampage, he's the equivalent of Liam Smith. Marco Huck was slightly past it, but considering he was coming in off of two dominant showings over long time foe Ola Afolabi, who himself was coming off of a dominant win over Chakhkiev, and the other Huck win was over Kucher, who arguably should have been undefeated, since his Makabu loss was debatable. Huck was the near carbon copy equivalent to his win over Cotto. His win over Mchunu was kind of comparable to the Khan win, taking into consideration that while TM is a natural CW and Khan a natural WW, former LW. Mchunu is still quite undersized, but technically brilliant, fast, slippery fighter, with a few impressive schoolings under his belt, but happened to be a tad bit glass jawed. So based on non controversial wins, and no, the win over Briedis wasn't all that controversial, at worst Usyk beat him 115-113, at best 117-111 or 116-112, scores in that range are acceptable, its damn near impossible to find more than 5 rounds to give to Briedis. Anyway... back to my point, based on non controversial wins, Usyk has single handedly cleaned out an entire stacked division of its top stars and a few of its fairly legit contenders, broke Holyfield's record, holds every belt, and is the bonafide lineal unified Cruiserweight Champion Of The World. Also, do yourself a favor and actually watch some Usyk matches, he's one of the slickest, fastest, most accurate, versatile boxers in the sport, is a phenom with blistering handspeed, immaculate defense, brilliant control of range, and perhaps alongside Lomachenko, the best footwork in the sport. He is the antithesis of how you described him. He can fight coming forward, going backward, and going to both sides. Is he P4P deserving of a higher standing than Canelo, I don't really give a ****, because I think P4P rankings are ****ing stupid, but you wanted one of us to make an argument, so I made one for Oleksandr. So use your own judgment. Is Usyk worthy? In my humble opinion, certainly.
This content is protected ''If you’re in Heaven then you’ll forgive me, dear Because that’s what they do up there But if you’re in Hell, then what can I say You probably deserved it anyway''
also, did Usyk ever have this kind of controversy around him: This content is protected and again, never happened before, only for Canelo...
That's why GGG will get offered pittance for the rubber match. Fools are still slandering Canelo while begging for a 3rd fight. If they think he's dirty , then don't fight him and go make an earning off somebody else.. Simple as that. But GGG would rather sell himself out and take the low end of the stick rather than take hard fights against the likes of Charlo , Smith , Jacobs II etc.
If Usyk and Canelo were in the same weight class Usyk would school him BADLY. Usyk is much better than Lara who beat Canelo. Can you ever imagine Usyk going life and death, being knocked down twice against aggressive journeyman (like Lara was against Angulo)? Gassiev is millions times better than Angulo in everything and Usyk schooled him easily winning every round.
One more point, Usyk was never on roids when Canelo was caught twice, and now it turns out his tests in GGG rematch were cancelled. Fishnets made sure Canelo doesn't get caught again.
