this, and an athleticism not seen before at heavyweight. If the guy could box he’d be g.o.a.t., and I can’t stand him. Good for tv though.

    Height
    Reach
and the most powerful right hand finisher in the game.

Ortiz did the mistake to rumble/brawl with him in that tenth round. He did the same **** in the other round where he was knocked down. You can't eat more than 1 or 2 of those right hand finisher although they are looking like some hooks from a drunken bully at the local pub.

Boxing skill did not cost Khan, his chin did, Kahn has genuine boxing skils.

Klitschko was one of the greatest heavyweights of all time holding the title for over a decade whereas Ortiz was boxing for the crown for the first time after a string of wins against very modest opposition. You manage to see the difference?

I can see Wilder cleaning out the division then taking a soft touch getting caught.. We will then have the worst unified champ in history with all the belts..

I look forward to that day this forum will be crazy.. (Bit like now with Clemelo lol)..

This. Obviously his height, reach, speed and power play a significant part but if he was fighting good versions of guys like Wlad, Povetkin, Fury, Joshua I don't think he gets away with his flaws for long.

I see some stunning similarities to Rocky Marciano, who in his day was criticized for being awkward, clumsy, with bad technical ability, the man was tougher than nails!, and had a devastating right hand he called, "Suzy Que", l recall a fight with Ezzard Charles when Rocks nose was cut to the bone, and fought on toughness alone, to beat the more "technical" Charles down. And the confidence that they have in common, I heard Marciano say,"there is not a man on earth that can beat me"...although that was before Liston and Patterson came on the scene.

His size and athleticism. He has reach and height advantages over most of his opponents. And he's fairly athletic for a big man. Good handspeed for a man his size, and he's able to control distance a bit when he moves his feet. Just look at the way the smaller plodding Ortiz had trouble getting to him upstairs much of the fight. When he would charge in to throw a left, he often had to target the body, because he was coming up short repeatedly upstairs as Wilder shuffled back.

Careful match making and power. People forget that DW is / was a work in progress. Despite his Olympic medal he is inexperienced compared to other prospects who have lengthy international amateur competition experience.
