How Kovalev needs to fight Hopkins

    He needs to dictate the tempo. If Kovalev lets Hopkins set the pace he is toast. Calzaghe understood that and upped the tempo so that Hopkins gassed late in the fight.

    i've got kovalev losing by dq. he will get robbed by a crooked ref, for retaliating against hopkins filthy tactics.

    Didn't do this as he should've, yet still dominated. Shows how serious of a threat he really is and how much opponents fear his power. It would've been an easier fight though had he mixed up his attack more and had better punch selection and set up his angles better.

    That wasn't the fight I expected out of Kovalev, but props to him for having the patience and control to fight a disciplined fight. He showed more dimensions than many gave him credit for going into it, but still has some room for improvement (which is to be expected from his first 12 rounder).
