Next time he dips low, the opponent should just sucker punch him and if they are DQ'd, they can claim Floyd's a punk for ducking low and deserved to be hit.
the elbows he did not do as much against jmm as they did not have much contact. that fight's just an example but he does things repeatedly and not just in that fight. i did not make those vids by the way, i just saw those on youtube so credit goes to the one who made it. i'm just sharing it here and asking for opinions.
Mayweather is the craftiest, smartest. boxers of all time. He's been using these tactics for years and the referee never seem to pull him up on these illegal moves.
floyd is highly skilled, i don't question that. it's just these moves that to me are questionable and should be pointed out if they're illegal. the punch and hold move, dipping low, and how he attacks the body when he has his elbow anchored to the face of the opponent.. these to me give him an unfair advantage.
you can't. he's too fast and he engrains it so well in his moves. he's not greedy and blatant with them like how ali grabs his opponents by the head or how stupidly ortiz tried to headbutt floyd. his is subtle.
i was supposed to say dipping low gets your head to a region that's hard to hit that would look natural.. but floyd did something like that when gatti had his head low. difference is that floyd was pushing gatti's head down when floyd swung an uppercut that hit gatti solid.
It's hard to hit him in the face, but they can try for the side or swing down right throught the back. He's wide open to be hit. Maybe illegal but hey, he deserves it if he does it on purpose.
maybe ortiz was aware of floyd's moves but he still couldn't do anything about it. may look easier said than done but i agree, the best way is to expect it, plan for it, and hit him even if he makes awkward positions.
He's not throwing MMA elbows designed to slice dudes up and I defy anyone to find an example of him actually hurting a fighter with an elbow. The elbow is just one of his many, many slick, cagey vet tricks that he uses to maintain his distance and interrupt **** boxers who have nothing but a headlong charge in their arsenal. If you go stutter-stepping forward with little or no head movement simply flinging wild hooks in an effort to close the distance then running into an elbow designed to push or keep you at bay is the lesser of two evils when compared to the check hook.
Floyd arguably uses his elbows better than anyone since Spinks or Pedroza. Pedroza was more blatant in throwing them than Floyd and Michael.
