Floyd has some 'dirty', 'old school' tactics he uses, at times. And he gets warned by some refs if they are used excessively...particularly, the forearm, which strays into the opponent's face sometimes. In those examples, Hatton wouldn't allow Floyd to move and box, he always came forward and tried to smother him and use roughhouse tactics. So, Floyd pulled out some tricks of his own, mostly to create space and disrupt Hatton's pressure. It was a very physical fight. I wouldn't label what either guy was doing in that fight, as 'cheating'.
I have never disliked a fighter as much as I dislike Floyd. BUT... I give credit where credit is do, and one thing I especially appreciate about him is his ability to take what his opponent does best and then do it better. the thread starters choice of using the Hatton fight is a perfect example. Haton was a notorious bully in the ring. His use of rough house tactics to disrupts a conventional boxers rhythm is well documented. See the Tsyzu fight. So what does Floyd do??? He goes out and out bully's the bully. I dont think i ever recall seeing Floyd look to the ref for help. He is a fighter in the purest sense of the word. I also think Andre Ward is a true fighter.
I know you did not make those vids. I have yet to see a fighter who has not bent the rules of the game, some are better at masking it than others and some do it more than others. My point is earlier is that Ricky is known to bull ahead head first that can cause head butts and do other things outside of the rules. RIcky is the first one will tell ya that he rough houses in there and that they are playing tittle winks, but his hardcore fans are the ones who cry when the tables are turned. PBF, tends to use his forearm more than his elbow. He tends to use it when fighter bully in and try and rough him up to create distance. I know I am gonna get a lot of flack for this comment but, when his opposition gets him on the ropes they tend to hit whatever part they can (like the back of his head, spin . . . etc). So I think he uses his forearm just as much as a defensive tool as an offensive one.
Exactly, its funny how he didn't "look" to enforce any of this vs JMM since JMM is a boxer who likes to stay in the center of the ring and actually use his boxing skill. Guys who try to impose there size on Mayweather and use there own little dirty tricks in order to rough Mayweather up will get it back. To act like Mayweather initiates this to get off is a spin job of the truth.
floyds been a dirty ass fighter, no denying that...but the dude gets away with murder, and his fans will defend him until the end of time....
Some of you must not have watched much boxing back in the day bc tons of fighters used their elbows to get distance or to block punches. Floyd has all the tricks in the books.
Please spare me that bull****...Not gonna work over here homie!:rofl Hypocrit much??? Me personally, I'm not defending that **** because at times it gets he does bow his opponents in the face..thats a no brianer...but I love how you try to pass off something onto others when you're just as guilty! You know exactly what I'm talking about. stop acting like you're on a higher pedistal!
