The most likely scenrio when two top fighters clash is a decsion alot of the time.

    But **** that.

I stuck a few quid on Hopkins to stop Pavlik at any time of the fight.

How likely is this to happen?

IMHO, almost none. He will play a defensive fight and pick his spots in an attempt to go 12 solid rounds. He is too aware of the fact that if he tries to go after a KO, he might gas out and this will really leave him vulnerable. Now a KD is completely different.

What odds did you get. I bet on the Hopkins Decision at +600, as I discussed in a thread I started a few minutes ago. To answer your question, I can't see Hopkins stopping Pavlik any way I think about it. Although, you aren't the only one who thinks this has a good chance of happening. It's just that Hopkins hasn't knocked anyone out since a fat DLH, and before that I don't even know off the top of my head. True, he's fought "elite" competition, and in the eyes of some Pavlik hasn't proven his "eliteness" but I don't see Hopkins KO'ing Pavlik if they fought ten times let alone once. But I really really like the decision odds.

odds 9/1 alot better than the 4/1 by decsion.

I'm a little bit confused about how so many people believe Pavlik is so durable

I think Hopkins with a sustain assault can force him into a brutal beating down the strecth

I think that Hopkins can expose Pavlik to a certain degree that other fighters - Jermain Taylor included - could not

and I dont think Pavlik is so durable he cant be hurt by Hopkins

I think Hopkins can "bust this white boy up"

dont start calling me racist - I'm white myself - I'm just playing on Hopkins infamous "white boy" jibes when he fought Calzaghe

Hopkins could KO and "execute" Pavlik if he were 8 years younger but he's not. He's 43. I don't think he has the stamina to go for the kill and even if he did stun Pavlik, i don't know if he will go for the kill. I mean just look at the Calzaghe fight. Even the Hopkins that fought JT would've went after Calzaghe.

I'm not sure how this is a better bet. Yes, IF YOU WIN it's a better bet, but you are throwing it out the window if you don't think he can cover this. The decision line has way move value in my opinion. Also, I don't know where you are getting 4/1 on decision, I'm getting 6/1, and seeing that line on most sports line sites.

Unlikely... very, very unlikely. Even if Hopkins does manage to drop Kelly, he'll back off like he did against Calzaghe and Tarver. I'm afraid Hopkins has lost that killer instinct. A TKO on cuts is a different story though.

Calzaghe is a bigger stronger guy than Kelly Pavlik - not to mention better.

Hopkins surprised me how close hem made the fight - I thought that Calzaghe was gonna bash him up good.

Its Hopkins performance against Calzaghe that has convinced me he has more than enough left to bash up Pavlik

Hopkins by split decision is his most likely scenario if he were to defeat Pavlik, in my opinion.

First of all, I think the odds go a long way in telling you the likely hood of this happening. Given some of your analysis in this thread, I'd stop betting if I were you.
