I just got stitches under my eye(not from boxing, I fell in the kitchen lol) and its about 3/4 inch long going in a crescent shape. Looks similar to the cut under the eye here: This content is protected I dont wanna risk reopening it when I start going back to the gym soon. So how long do you think I should wait? Also does the skin in that area become weaker now, like itll be easier to cut in the future?
Well, for starters, you didn't get cut from falling down and landing on your vagina or some ****, you got cut from fighting some gypsy bare-knuckle behind the local pub, let's just get that straight right now. Secondly, talk to your doc, or whoever put the stitches in or will be taking them out. But as an educated guess, I'd say you got until at least when the stitches come out, and possibly a week or two after that until you can spar again.
I had stitches in my Index finger on the mid joint(knife accident) and had the stitches for a week and a half. It felt kinda tight so waited a couple of day until I sparred, but it started opening as soon as I started sparring. So if I was you I'll wait a good 3-4 weeks
We should't share like such photos because these picture demotivate the new comers in boxing field.... But from another perspective, a good boxer should see the all aspects of the game...
At least 6-8 weeks. It's direct trauma to the area. :rofl :rofl I know a guy who fell over in his kitchen and tore his quadriceps, ruptured his patella tendon and something else. 7 months later he qualified for England's strongest man.
I know someone who fell in the kitchen, broke her clavicle and broke the head of the humerus clean off. It's seems like a pretty ****ing dangerous area to be.
when i was 6 my head meet a brick wall and got cut about the eyebrow and got some stitches and now i sparr just fine
Till the scabs fall off. Do yourself that favor-If that reopens again just one time, itll be a problem the rest of your career.
I would say until the scar toughens up, the tissue will be weak now so I recommend using a full face headgear
lol everyone has been telling me to say that, to make a cool story up about how i got this cut, i suck a lying tho. How do you know that? Thats what im worried about, its not in the worst area but it still sucks, cause i wouldnt imagine amateur refs letting anyone with any kinda blood continue. And what do you mean do yourself that favor, wait till the scabs fall off till i spar?
so from this thread we can learn get in the ring stay out of the kitchen! it seems to be statistically safer!
