At the time, Hopkins didn't dare to face an ATGJ, he was facing a top rated boxer for a vacant title. Do you know who RJJ faced before that fight? No one of note either. So...Hopkins dared to be great by facing a talented MW who himself had not really beaten anyone of note. Ok...atsch I bet you didn't even think this out before posting. :hi:
He takes almost no punishment, he rely's primarily on skillset/power, and his competition isn't all that elite, he can probably continue this trajectory for at least a few more years.
Ggg has never fought anyone within 1000 light years as good as Jones. Rjj has fought guys as good and better than ggg. I'll put my money on Jones the better and more proven fighter thanks. Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
A blind man could see how talented Rjj was. I know how to evaluate talent and you knew Rjj was an atg in the making just like I knew that about pbf as well. Jones speed combined with his atg reflexes and good power was already there for the world to see. The guy would have beat anyone in the world at 160 by the time he fought Hopkins anyway. Don't tell me that you would pick GGG to beat RJJ at 160. Lmfao!
groves at 168 could not even drop murray dumb ass and went to the brink with him GGG beat him easy without even going to the brink even carried him and knocked him down couple of times
atsch Fvckin dense as ever... When Hopkins fought RJJ, it wasn't an ATG, as you said. All RJJ was at the time was a highly talented boxer fighting for his first title as well (Which was vacant). Well no $hit RJJ has fought better guys. Who the heck said he hadn't? Your reading ability is still dog$hit man.... atsch
No one is disputing his talent. That doesn't matter in this, since at the time, RJJ had not beaten ANYONE of note when he and Hops fought.
And your spinning ability is still second to none. The fact is RJJ was a big deal in boxing when he fought Hopkins. Even at that point he was 10000 light years better than anyone GGG has ever fought. Hopkins dared to be great by fighting this highly touted boxer in RJJ.
Yes which is why you think GGG is the second coming. He's beaten no one of note let alone faced anyone of note in 35 fights at the age of 34.
:deal the guy is 34 and has never fought anyone with a pulse. They have the nerve to criticize a Roy Jones who beat 2 of the best MW's of all time in Hopkins and Toney.
I think the reality is that he's on borrowed time now. I'm not saying that he's closing on becoming shot put some decline given his age is the rule.
It's crazy isn't it? Trashing one of the best fighters of the last 25 years and building up a guy who's best win is Martin Murray. I mean you can't make this stuff up.
