How long before Mayweather vs. Pacquiao is no longer a super fight!

Once a guy loses I think, if pac losesto marquez in a few days it will all be over.
Regardless of that, it already lost a lof of its value of a few years ago despite it still being a huge ppv record and huge money fight.

 

Whenever one of them loses, if that doesn't happen it may lose some edge but it'll still be a superfight. So realistically it could be 5days from not being a super fight

 

If they don't fight in 2012 they can both **** off and retire because there'll be no point after that. They're both already on the slide.

 

When they're both washed up. I do agree that the pot has been overcooked, but it's still a little while to go before people lose complete interest. I think one of them losing will have a massive effect though.

2009 after pac beat hatton/cotto was the time they should have fought

realistically tho if it stretches out into 2014 it would no longer be a super fight, just 2 guys out of prime who happen to have a good name

 

I agree with the general idea in this thread that once someone loses. Pacquiao/Floyd is NOT a superfight anyways, Martinez/Floyd is IMO. At least Martinez has a chance.

With each failed negotiation and each alternative fight which happens it loses significance and lustre. It's already less of a fight than it was in 2009/10. I'm already utterly bored with it. The failure to make it happen whoever you blame is the biggest disgrace to the sport there has been in decades.

This borefest has dragged on so long now that if/when it ever does happen it simply can never live up to expectations and the inevitable anticlimax will actually damage boings credibility once again.

It should have happened after the cotto fight simple as that. The time since has been a waste of time.

 

I dont think you can put a time frame on it. obviously if either one of them lose, or if either one of them decline. the thing about it is, I dont buy that it's lost its luster, pacquiao and mayweather have only become bigger stars in the last couple years, and even if it has, the buildup, especially 24/7, would bring it back. I wouldnt be shocked if they extended it to more than 4 or 5 episodes if this fight came off

 

I honestly believe that if they don't fight after/if Pac beats JMM, they might as well not fight at all. NO tune ups, no end of 2012 fight. Spring of 2012, or not at all.

 

I don't think any public interest has gone from this fight. It will probably do around 3M PPV because of the hype.
