Weigh-ins are usually in the morning (before noon) and the fights are typically in the evening (around 6 or 7)

Golden Gloves is a specific tournament, so I'm not sure if you are asking about that one in particular or just competition in general.

Morning of the fight; it's that way in almost all of amateur boxing and at every major tournament; or when they're divided into two sessions (an afternoon and evening session) they might have seperate weigh ins for those sessions.

i want to thank u guy's for ur answers, but i just want to make sure that u atleast have like 6 hours until the fight after u weight in right? Cause im 6foot 1 and naturally weight about 163 pounds and i will cut down to 152 if i know ill have atleast 7 hours after weigh ins. I wrestled in high school so i no all about cutting that weight and i would not go 152 if it's anyhting less then 5 or 6 hourse cause chances are im probably going to show up fatigued because i only have about 8 percent body fat when im at my natural weight 163.

Every fight I've had we've weighed-in around 7 or 8 am and the fights are in the evening around 7pm. If it is a big tournament, they be having an early session, which would be at 11am or noon. In any case, you'd know the day before if it was going to be early.

thats nutz man.. you clearly have never been to australia to fight....

at just regular tournaments that arent state or aus titles etc...

the weigh in is usually in the afternoon... i've weighed in as late as about 5pm to fight on a card that begins at 7-7:30pm

but im gernerally not to bothered by it.. i usually just have a small breakfast then nothing until weigh in then munch on a foot long subway or someting.. i've never had to cut more then at very max 1 1/2 kg and that was for a mornin weigh in and evening session anyway
