How long could Foreman and Frazier have dominated the division if they were brothers?

Assume that, like the Klitschkos, Frazier and Foreman were brothers who owned their own promotional company and coordinated their efforts. (Wouldn't fight each other, relied on each other to bump off rivals who posed stylistic issues, etc.)

How successfully could they lock down the (late) 60s to 70s division?

First of all, what would be their last name? Or are they half brothers?

These are the questions that need to be answered before anyone can reply with vigorous enthusiasmzzz...

Uh, until they met Ali, who, presumably would not have been in the family.

Frazier did beat Ali the first time, at least.

    Ali is 3-1 against them

I just found it odd that Ali was not factored in. They wouldn't "dominate" the era because Ali wins wins 75% of the time.

Oh, I factored him in. Part of the challenge is figuring out if he could be kept off the title with enough collusion.

Ali comes back, challenges Frazier for the title and loses, he could get another shot if he gets through Foreman. Would Foreman-Ali be the same outcome without factoring in Frazier-Foreman never have taken place, or if Foreman is in a better condition than he was in Zaire? At the very least he could get a Foreman-Norton blueprint to defeat Foreman, or maybe Norton never fights Foreman at all assuming they're all under Yank Durham and Eddie Futch.

Also have to factor in when Joe was still champ he refused to give Ali a rematch due to his betrayal and all the smack talking he did up to their first fight, despite being the #1 contender when Joe lost the title. So another good question is would there be a big puncher that could take down Frazier until Ali inevitably becomes the mandatory? Maybe Lyle or Shavers but then again Foreman could dispatch them.

So in conclusion Frazier keeps the title until Ali becomes the mandatory sometime in the mid-70s unless Foreman defeats him or Frazier wins (the second and third fights were still close after all).

Sure they could keep Ali at bay after Joe's big win in 71. I guess once the other alpha titles comes into play in the late 70's, George can have a title too. They would mix and match, perhaps Joe steps in when brother George has to face Young. And because Joe is good friends with Ken Norton, George can bomb him out. After 7 or 8 years of this BS, Ali finally gets a shot at one of em lol.

A long time, if they picked the opponents carefully.

One or the other of them is poison for practically anybody.

And, this is it. Enough collusion would likely need to extend, beyond their respective teams, to involving governing bodies, the Athletic Commissions and the assignment of 'more friendly' referees.

I reckon If Bowe and Lewis were brothers we'd have an even better match up.

I don't see him being much of a problem for them in the 70s.

Two men can't dominate the same division because boxing isn't a tag team sport.
