My coach tries to get guys to have at least 10 rounds of sparring for every round of boxing. So 30 rounds of sparring before your first fight. Seems most people are ready within 6 months. (give or take a month) Just depends on personal aptitude and work ethic.
well my first fight i only trained for about 3months and im in the superheavy div so i was in there with a big guy i felt good up until the bell rang and as soon as it did my knees just gave out and all i could think was ohhh **** but just like any other fight once you get hit once you snap out of it and fight my fight was a slug fest and i learned ALOT about myself that night.....just remember that sparring only teaches you so much and when you get your bell rang for the first time you have to dig down and really test your heart dont give up and take every sec as a learning exp. you are doing this cause you love to do it/and you want to do it if you lose so ****ing what you just learned something and there will always be tomorrow stay strong and keep those hands up you will do fine.........once you get the first fight ut of you the rest will come easy your nerves will calm down more and more every time you fight
joined gym august medicaled n licensed in september fought in november but im from a bit of a boxing family and had watched boxing my whole life so i was a bit of a natural i won the fight quite decisively
I started in March and had my first fight about 5-6 months later. I didn't start running and going in more than 2 days a week until about 2 months before fight or so.
