9 months thats worse than being knocked out, didnt a japanese boxer die like that he got hurt bell saved him then he fought the whole distance and then collapsed, thats the worst thing to be on the verge of being knocked out then recover at least 4 times, he shouldnt take on a puncher next too
I would like t see him in August against Berto. It's a winnable fight for him that would be fan-friendly. He as already been away for 10 months, so he needs to give himself more exposure. This fight may have won him some fans. so he needs to get some rest and then get back to business. With that being said,, he did take a terrible beating this time, so he needs to get some test to make sure he didn't sustain any major damage to his brain. If he does fight again, it may be wise for him to go back down to 140 and cash in/out his career against smaller opponents.
After a fight like that both fighters need to be looked and thoroughly. They should then have NO CONTACT for a long time (4-6 months?) to properly heal. They can train and go in the gym to do pads, bags e.t.c but no sparring. When you get knocked out you are automatically suspended from fighting for three months by some commissions. The problem is you can organize a fight for say four months after that fight but two months after the war you are again taking shots to the head in sparring. A fight such as that is no joke. It was brutal for both guys and they need to be smart about where they go after such a fight. A rest period immediately afterwards and then extended time to heal is needed.
Exactly how I see it. I don't think he should be doing anything more than very light training for 6 months, let alone ring work. If in fact he was concussed early on (which wouldn't surprise me), it's much more serious. I know one thing- I've seen a many of his fights, and this is the first time in his career I've seen him slow to recover and reacting to shots like he did, and that's not a good sign. At all. I hope he's alright. :?
By the end of the fight I was very concerned for both guys. Some fights are simply too violent. Great for fans and all that, but Bradley in particular seemed to lose his natural balance — scary.
He should go through a battery of tests and then consult the best neurologist he can find and then follow that physician's advice to a tee. I do know that every ring doctor to speak out on the matter-Flip Homansky and Margaret Goodman notably-insist that taking sustained punishment over a long fight does more long term damage than being sparked out, even in the case of a grusome, violent knockout like Martinez-Williams 2 or Manny vs Hatton. Although I'm not a doctor, I think six months minimum without sparring and then extreme caution in his first fight back. And then he should probably consider rapping up his career without having too many more fights. Why not go out with money and fame with his health intact. He clearly has a rabid family and it doesn't appear boxing will ever give him the satisfaction he craves, so why endanger his quality of life?
I have seen only a footage where Bradley went to Ambulance and he looked really bad. It's sad but that's boxing. I hope he will be allright.
What so after nearly a year off before this and about a year off before his last fight he's supposed to take yet another ****ing year off? That'l be 3 fights in 3 years. Great stuff.
Better he take some extra time off to make sure he isn't putting himself in any danger. You don't want to see him die or end up like the G-Man, do you? Those two dudes ****ed each other up, but it was clear as day Prov landed the much heavier leather. Bradley refuses to lose, his will to never give up is crazy, and that's a trait you want in a boxer, but it won't do him any good if he takes more beatings like that. Not a year, but definitely 6 months minimum.
I think he should fight again probably near August. He looked a little bulky and a little sluggish. He shold be more active.
