How long do you think Wilder can stay effective with his style?

It's based around movement and athleticism with little to no textbook boxing.

As he soon turns 33 the question has to be asked?

How many elite level fighters with a style like that have stayed effective into their mid 30s?

Him being 6'7" and very light, tight and the ability of a ww means he's truly a freak of nature we've yet to see

Only time will tell but the dude is like a Welter Fighting at heavy

He's already past his prime, so we've already seen the best of Wilder.

I'd give him another two years, depending on who he fights and what his schedule is like. He gets hurt or outboxed almost every fight, and that type of punishment can erode reflexes quicker than age can. I already see a decline in his overall sharpness from a few years ago, and his increasingly bizarre behaviour might be the early onset of some sort of degenerative brain condition. I hope not, for his and his children's sake, but boxing's a punishing sport, and Wilder doesn't do himself any favours taking shots like that so regularly.

I think Wilder is a guy who will go as far as his chin will take him. He leaves it out there a lot looking for the knockout, and I give him credit for having a lot of heart and going for the knockout. But eventually he will be hit and knocked out and people will have the blueprint on how to beat him. Lennox had the punch Wilder had, but he set it up better.

Since Wilder only fights C- level competition he can fight into his 50s. His best win is a 55 year old Cuban guy. Can you image what Ortiz would do to him if he was 10-15 years younger?

Wilder was 10-15 seconds away from getting stopped in his last fight. I can't imagine he will survive another fight if he steps up his level of opposition fighting the #1.

Ortiz, Duhaupas, Washington, Szpilka, Stiverne, Molina, Sconiers and Nichols all put a savage beating on him. His verbal output is now at "logistically credibility somebody". A very tragic case Deontay Wilder is.

Stevenson is kind of similar at an older age.

2-3 years max. Could be lower depending on the level of opponents he fights.

I'd say he has another couple of years left before his reflexes decline enough that guys he would of beaten before can upset him. He'll need to be even more carefully matched if he's to remain undefeated for longer than that.

I popped forward in time a couple of years and he's still got that green belt! Here's the top 5 contenders according to the WBC of 2020

    1. Oliver Mcall
    2. Shannon Briggs
    3. Fres Oquendo
    4. Hulk Hogan
    5. Barney the Dinosaur

McCall is currently sueing Sulaiman after Deontay fought Barney the Dinosaur for his mandatory.
