How long do you think Wilder can stay effective with his style?

wilder can keep this up for a while. the only real adversity we seen him face was ortiz . and he got through it. it was shady tho they saved him with the delay in action, but hey that boxing for you. its corrupt .

i mean who is he gonna fight next . a rematch with ortiz i doubt. dom breazale is a threat imo, hes big like wilder and has a good boxing background and has solid fundamentals.

I think Breazeale will be a threat too, he has a definite punchers chance. But he's going to struggle to find Wilder for long periods, he's much, much slower, but with how tentatively Wilder fights now, he should be able to fight his fight and come forward, throwing, it's just the landing part he'll struggle with.

But he's tough, durable, won't quit easily and of course is dangerous with his power.

He always stays in great shape and fights in spurts, so as long as he stays injury free he could easily have another good 4 years before he starts slowing down and even then I could still see him being very effective at what he does.

Wilder has style that should age pretty well. It's low volume, and based almost entirely on delivering single punches with as much power as possible- the last attribute fighters usually lose. The one BIG thing I think may undo him as he gets older(and even right now) is his defense. He relies solely on his insane reflexes and height, and right now it pretty much consists of him dodging the punch at the last second by leaning back and staggering away off balance. As he ages and his speed declines he'll need to work on implementing actual defensive techniques into his game, or he'll probably start getting blitzed out.

RJJ always stayed in great shape and also fought in spurts but he was still done by 34-35, though the weight loss might have accelerated his decline. But Wilder takes more shots than RJJ ever did and seems to like to smoke weed so wouldn't be shocked if Wilder is done in a couple of years. But then he has one big advantage RJJ never had he's much taller and rangier for his division than RJJ was that will help him a lot when the decline begins.

Funny how ppl trying to figure out how long AJ can duck Wilder, good luck with that. As Wilder matures he'll only get more confident, and he's an order of magnitude more athletic than any heavyweight that even if he slows some he'll still have enough of an advantage. By the time that happens he'd be even that more experienced as well. The gameplan he uses now is designed for longevity. Doesn't need to outwork, just land the Alabama nuke missile.

You're corrupt, it's NYAC protocol in that state after losing a 23 million dollar lawsuit. That's why Wilder was checked but you'd rather stay ignorant like the Showtime commentators of that fight despite them seeing it happen before.

I guess you mean 'winning', rather than 'effective'?

    He gets outboxed every fight.....
He gets hurt virtually every time he is landed on.....

A boxer can plan to 'take punches', i'll buy into that one. Wear your opponent out etc......
But a boxer doesn't plan to 'get hurt'.

Or making dumn decisions like having 3 managers or turning down $15,000,000 and instead fighting for $1,000,000 twice a year.

    Haven't you heard?

Turning down that $15,000,000 and instead fighting for $1,000,000 is an incredible business decision!

AJ is the foolish one, turning down $50,000,000 and earning $20,000,000 instead......

Lol nope, just wondering what's the window of opportunity for this fight to remain significant. If they wait til one of them is too old, in this case Wilder, it becomes pointless like Mayweather/Pac or the BHop/RJJ rematch.

The big question his how do we tell when Wilder is starting to decline. Usually it's when a top fighter starts struggling with mediocre opposition like Wlad vs Jennings, but let's be honest Wilder already struggles with mediocre opposition, like Szpilka, Washington, Molina, Duhaupas etc.
