How long do you think Wilder can stay effective with his style?

Joshua KO1. Joshua's style vs Wilder = Martin 2.0. Look what Ortiz did to him, Wilder can barely be effective with his style now.

There's some truly shocking news about Bermane Stiverne.

I would love to tell you but I have to be soooo careful how much I reveal because it could upset the timeline.

Awhile back I told people that Mayweather / mcGregor was a colossal waste of time and that anyone who paid for it would be hunted down and sold into slavery in a mere ten years from now by the boxing mad Lord Akatosh of the new millenial terror empire (the one that replaces the US govt) but not only did none believe me when I returned to this time line Donald Trump was president. Before my meddling it was supposed to be Rowdy Roddy Piper who actually turned out to be generally accorded to be the best since Lincoln.

Somebody will eventually figure out Wilder's awkward style and beat him. :chuck:

If you are being honest, a subject like this only comes up this early when people like you hope he'll lose someday but not anytime in the next few years and way past his prime. Jumping the gun big time before any signs of decline of which is completely asinine.

AJ 'refuses' Wilder. Fights Povetkin for $20,000,000 instead at a full capacity stadium.

Wilder refuses AJ. Fights Brezeale for $1,000,000 in an Alabama sports centre. Pays 3 managers before taking his remaining 5% home. Tells himself that he is the 'dawg' for not signing Hearn's slave contract

    Lol at Fres Oquendo.

Sad thing is I could actually still see him competing then... well, clogging up the rankings with undeserved title shots that he won in court cases when the Earth was still young. You know what I mean.

Lol, either he's talking some Wilder Hybrid language or he had a small stroke when he typed that sentence.

Yeah. "Logistically credibility somebody" is straight gibberish, whereas "logistically somebody credibility" is pure half-hybrid poetry.

It's a fiendish and subtle attack on Wilder to make him seem like some sort of illiterate idiot or something. I'd be more incensed if I wasn't so in credibility at Wilder's logistical skills. Yeah.

It's a weak Heavyweight era and has been for years, he'll last as long as this weak era.

Realistically anybody can be a threat to Wilder; he's so deficient in so many areas. On paper a guy like Breazeale should be easy pickings, but the mere fact that he can take a punch and give one back while matching Wilder's dimensions can cause problems. It was enough for Duhaupas, and Breazeale has a similar style and a bit more power.

Wilder should win, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him struggle in another closer than expected fight.

I think he's already declining, though that's kind of hard to tell as he fights at the level of his opponent a lot of the time. I don't see the same sharpness as I did in the first Stiverne fight, where he was keeping Stiverne at the end of his jab and dictating pace and range throughout the whole contest. Now, he lets opponents close distance, lets opponents outjab him, and seems to lose his technique a lot easier. Maybe that's more a case of getting into bad habits than any physical decline, but logically a guy with Wilder's style who takes the type of punishment he does should start to see some wear and tear appearing now. He already has major issues with his hands, and just seems a bit more sluggish and sloppy these days.

I think Wilder has improved since the Duhaupas fight, but then again I think Breazeale would put a beat down on Duahupas. But as you say Breazeale hits harder than Duhaupas, significantly harder I would say and he's bigger than Duhaupas too, so whatever improvements Wilder has made that might even it out and make this a tougher than expected nights work for Wilder.

I've thought for a while this is a good fight for Wilder, while it doesn't compare to Joshua or Joshua facing Povetkin, it's a good fight and better than many of his other defences.

Personally I think the Stiverne fights flatter Wilder, other than the Arreola fight it's the only defences where Wilder has actually looked good and not been troubled in some way. Stiverne is only 6'2", flat footed and a counter puncher and against a tall, fast, rangy heavyweight like Wilder it was always going to compliment his style.
